Hope everyone is keeping well and managing to get their mandated exercise squeezed in. It’s been a long slog and we’re likely looking at another three weeks of lockdown. Keep your spirits up, keep in touch with friends and family and stay safe.

The view on one of my new running routes! It makes getting out for a run that little bit easier and nice to be out of the flat for something other than work or supplies!

Apologies for the scarcity of posts. Work has been busy over these last few weeks what with all the C19 disruptions and a flat move has kinda hampered my free time somewhat!

First Saturday will not be a group run this month but we at the MRC are encouraging you all to get out there and make the most of your sanctioned 30mins!

Share a selfie or a pic of something that made you smile on your run! Maybe share your favourite 30 min running route and tell us why? We’re all experiencing the same stresses and frustrations so let’s try and shake some of the cobwebs and face this lockdown head on.

Looks like the Brewgooder Global Gathering events may well be affected by the C-19 virus.

If anyone would like to reach out and contribute to Brewgooder here’s a link to support them.

Brewgooder is partnering with 250 brewers in 24 countries to launch 250 unique, one-off beers across the world to celebrate World Water Day Weekend (March 20-22 2020). Each brewer is raising at least £500 through their brew and we’re asking craft beer drinkers to join them!

Howdy folks!
First Saturday comes a week late due to my night shifts but I’ll be calling all MRC Edinburgh folks to join me this Saturday at The Hanging Bat for a 12noon start.

I generally arrive between 11:45-1200 give or take parking so if you arrive early just hang on or check the fb page for updates.

I’ve also been in discussion with some fine people from Glasgow who are helping organise events as part of the Brewgooder Global Gathering. Quite a few Edinburgh bars are hosting events and it might be good to get involved. There’s a 6k fun run over at Bellfield Brewey if folks are keen or there’s also scope for a MRC Edinburgh run between various bars/breweries. Get in touch if you feel this would be something folks could support be it the 6k FunRun or an MRC route.

Hope everyone is enjoying the terrible weather! Makes the running more fun when you’re all wrapped up in waterproofs and woolly hats!

I’m hoping to plan a midweek run at the Meadows and most likely on Thursday night! If folks fancy a 30min jaunt as part of ongoing C25K or their mid week run.

Also I’m on night shift for the First Saturday run so might arrange it for the following Saturday.

As a delightful week of winter sun draws to a close I look forward to getting heaps of layers on and running in frosty Edinburgh over the weekend!

Keep an eye out for a Meadows mid week run possibly next week. It’ll be a easy pace 4-5km so newbies welcome.
