Day 2 - Just an easy spin for 4hrs and 99K in the heat it Lanzarote. Kept the fuelling up today despite ie being an easier day. As we've still got some hard days ahead - so important to stay on top.

Day 1 in Lanza.
Solid first day in the bank with a swim, ride and brick run.
Swim - Focussed on rotation drills.
Bike - All about getting some power data to assess physiology on the bike just now.
Run - Controlled Brick free flow.

90g per hour of Carbs using beta fuel, SiS Go and Gels. And some clear protein post the Brick run.

Really important to stay on top of your energy levels when on a focussed training week, where volume and intensity is likely to be far higher than when at home.

You need to arrive on these sort of weeks, fresh and able to absorb the additional training stimuli. We train to elicit an adaptation, so you need to ensure your body is ready each and every time.

Setting myself a challenge of not being defeated by ageing, I decided to turn turning 50 into being faster at 50 in 2025πŸ’₯ a big audacious challenge for sure so alongside my consistency in training I needed every help I could get - I opted for 'Heights'.

I do feel it's hard to assess the benefits, and whilst the results are results in my races I do feel heights played a part.

βœ… Sleep improved
βœ… Felt more energised during the day
βœ… Improved focus towards training.
I'm sure there were other health benefits internally, but I feel those are harder to quantify.
