Grange Hockey Club The Grange Hockey Club is one of the largest in Scotland. Se boast 7 mens and 5 ladies teams. We also have over 250 players in our junior section.

We feed players of all ages to the Scotland junior, senior and masters teams. With 7 men's teams & 4 Ladies teams and over 250 youth players Grange Hockey Club is one of the largest in Scotland. The 1st men's XI is one of the best sides in Scotland and regularly
supplies players to the national side. The team continues to enjoy great success, both domestically and in European competition. The other XIs also have a strong domestic presence, in National, regional, central and the east district leagues. Grange also has an indoor hockey scene, both a regional and national league level. New players for both indoor and outdoor are always welcome and all skill levels can be accommodated. For all youth enquires for kids age 7-15 please email Grange Juniors at [email protected]

Welcome back, Kirstie, Skye & Kate! 🦌💙

Kirstie Buchan
Kirstie returns while completing her home placement as part of her Psychology degree at Loughborough University. We’re delighted to have her awareness, determination, and composure back in the squad — qualities that made her such an asset two seasons ago.

Skye Waugh
Currently completing her Sports Science degree at Stirling University, Skye brings fierce determination, physical strength, and a competitive edge to the pitch. A vocal presence, she’s tough to beat defensively and even harder to stop when she drives forward in attack.

Kate Bole
Kate rejoins us after completing her Liberal Arts degree at The University of Exeter and securing a job here in Edinburgh. She brings fantastic energy, enthusiasm, and smart connecting play down the wing - a huge boost to our attacking style.

After several successful years developing through our youth section and representing our Ladies 1s as juniors, we’re absolutely delighted to welcome all three of you back in blue this season! 🦌💙

Scottish Masters Hockey is saddened to announce the sudden passing of one of our M65s squad members, Donny Hay.

Donny had to withdraw suddenly from this year's World Cup squad, and it was a huge shock to hear of his passing on Saturday, the 29th of August.

Donny had been a Scottish internationalist from his Scottish schoolboy days in 1976, and he continued to progress through every squad, U-21, and full squad right up to various Scottish Masters age groups.

He had been a member of Grange Hockey Club since 1980 and represented Scotland, gaining 51 caps.

While at Grange, he was selected for the initial squad for the 1984 Great Britain LA Olympics but was unable to participate due to his forthcoming accountancy exams.

In 1983 Donny was also part of the Scotland Squad in Barcelona, who beat Spain for the first time, and then in 1987 they had a victory over the dominant Netherlands team. Two great achievements that have never been replicated.

He was a key figure in the Grange squad that played in the 1995 European Cup Winners' Cup tournament in Sardinia.

Donny was a prolific goalscorer throughout his career and went on to score 21 goals in his 44 Masters international appearances.

The Scottish Masters and the World Masters Hockey community would like to pass on their heartfelt condolences to Donny's family.

The M65s will miss Donny's enthusiasm, fun, and, of course, his post-match rendition of Father Abraham.

🏑 Scottish Hockey Awards 2026 ✨

Another fantastic night at the Scottish Hockey Awards in Edinburgh, celebrating the achievements and contributions of so many across the hockey community.

A special mention to Martin Shepherdson (Shep), who was recognised for his outstanding contribution to Scottish Hockey, particularly during his time as Chair. A hugely important role, and thoroughly deserved recognition for all his hard work over the years! 👏

Congratulations also to Hamish Imrie, recognised for his impressive 43 senior international caps for Scotland following his retirement from professional hockey earlier this year. An incredible achievement! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿💙

And finally, a huge congratulations to Beth Goodyear and the Scotland W35s Indoor team, who were named Masters Team of the Year following their fantastic silver-medal finish at the Indoor World Cup! 🥈🏆 What an achievement, and a thoroughly deserved award!

A massive thank you to Scottish Hockey for hosting another brilliant evening and celebrating everyone who continues to contribute to and grow our sport.

SIGNING NEWS ✍️

Welcome to Grange, Amelia, Mhairi & Verity! 🦌💙

Amelia Tait
Amelia joins us from Durham University 1s, where she has been a key part of their squad for the past three years. Before that, she competed with East Grinstead, gaining valuable experience at the highest level of English hockey. Her experience, quality, and understanding of the game make her a fantastic addition to the squad.

Mhairi McGregor
With six years of Premiership experience, Mhairi adds real depth and leadership to our defensive unit. She has also coached Edinburgh University 2s to two Championship titles, showcasing her tactical awareness and understanding. On the pitch, she is calm, knowledgeable, and commanding from the back, with excellent ball‑handling skills that make her a major threat in our attacking play.

Verity Shields
Verity joins us from Glasgow Uni, having previously spent two seasons with Uddingston, and brings excellent experience and awareness to the squad. She is a key member of the Scotland U21s, progressing through the national pathway from U16s and U18s. A confident and vocal goalkeeper, Verity adds a sharp, commanding presence that strengthens our defensive unit.

🏆 BRAVE CUP WINNERS 🏆

Huge congratulations to Grange Girls Zoe (screen) and Holly (attacking mid) and the whole ⚡️ Lightening Emerging Girls Team ⚡️ who were crowned Scottish Hockey Brave Cup Winners last weekend! 🏆🥇

An exhilarating Brave Cup final saw the Lightening Emerging Girls win 4-3 in a thrilling game against the Devils Emerging Girls. And massive well done to Zoe who was awarded POTM! 💙🦌⚡️

Also shout out to Grange girl Maggie who led the Lightening Emerging Girls and Boys teams out and worked in the ball patrol team on Brave Cup Finals Day!

And big congrats to ALL the Grange Brave Cup finalists, a total of 21 Grange players were selected for Brave Cup, we are so proud of them all 🦌💙
