It is with a heavy heart that we must share some incredibly difficult news. Following an exhaustive internal review, Edinburgh Thistle Football Club has officially notified the Warriors Football Association of our withdrawal from the competition, effective immediately.
As of today, the club will cease all league operations and will no longer participate in any competitive fixtures within the Warriors Premier League. Please know that this decision was made as a last resort. We have spent countless hours searching for a different path; however, we have reached a point where a combination of insurmountable financial pressures and a critical shortage of personnel mean it is no longer viable to fulfil our remaining fixtures. We offer our heartfelt apologies for the disruption and sadness this causes our supporters and fellow member clubs.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you who have supported us throughout our journey in the WFA. Thank you to all our sponsors, without you this journey would not have been possible at all. And finally, a huge thank you to the Warriors Football Association and its constituent clubs for their support over the last three years.
It’s not the complete end for Edinburgh Thistle; this club was always more than just what happens on the pitch. We will still be a bunch of mates kicking a ball around but on a more casual basis without the pressure and commitment of competitive league fixtures.
