First ever pictures of a Scottish bobtail squid for me today. Middle of the day, in ~5m on pale sand. Photobombed my attempts to get weaver fish pictures but was otherwise remarkably cooperative. Had to change from shooting pale weaver fish at f11 to a very dark little critter on a bright background at f3.2 ASAP before it disappeared. Not sure I’d have got there on time without the option of using RC mode on my &Sea YS-D3 DUO strobes.

Who slipped me this? It’s this sort of thing that has forced me to close the shop next week! The Edinburgh Diving Centre will be closed from Aug 16th to Aug 25th. I hope you’re happy now!

We’re closing the shop for a week in August and for another at the start of September, while we get some diving in off Scotland’s magnificent northwestern coast. The shop will be closed from the Aug 16th until normal business hours resume from Aug 26th to Aug 29th. We will then be closed until Wednesday the 9th of September.

Overkill? This is how I roll now! EDC now has Demo units of the Shearwater Petrel 3, Tern TX and Teric available to loan out for end user testing. I’m going to try and ignore the price difference, and make a non biased assessment of the Petrel 3 vs the Suunto Nautic over the summer.
