Hi everyone,
Leith St Andrews Church is one of the venues we use for our classes and unfortunately there are only a few days left to keep this church in community hands.

The building is due to be sold off and if it’s sold to a private buyer, all the brilliant groups who use it will need to leave and the Leith community will lose access to this wonderful building.

Leith St. Andrew’s Trust is a registered charity set up to buy the building and keep it in community hands instead. The people who have been working hard to keep this building as part of the community are proud Leithers who’ve been working hard for more than two years to make this church remain in the community. However, they need your help 🫶🏼

The Scottish Land Fund are deciding at the start of October whether they will give them the funding they need to buy the building. They’ve said they need to know that the building will be truly community owned and managed in order to grant the funding. This means having as many people in the local community as possible signed up as Leith St. Andrew’s Trust members by Tuesday 22nd September. They’ve set an ambitious target of recruiting 800 members or 20% of the local community by this date.

By joining Leith St Andrew’s Trust you’ll become part of their mission to ensure this building stays part of the community, you’ll have full voting rights at our upcoming General Meetings and Annual General Meetings, and be eligible to stand as a trustee.

What a wonderful achievement for our dancers who auditioned for TS Training Academies on Sunday. All of our dancers were successful in securing a place and we couldn’t be prouder of them. 💙

Opportunities like this are so special. Being able to train alongside and learn from experienced industry professionals, gaining new skills, confidence and inspiration to take forward into their own dance journeys.

A huge thank you to and the entire TS Academy team for giving them this fantastic opportunity to learn, grow and experience the industry.

Well done, everyone. You should be incredibly proud of yourselves.

This evening marked Christina and Amy’s final class together before they head off on the next exciting chapter of their journey to dance college. 💙

These two beautiful girls have given us some of the most wonderful memories over the years, and it’s hard to put into words just how much they will be missed by everyone at Phelan. They have grown, blossomed and brought so much joy and love into our school, and we couldn’t be prouder of the young women they have become.

It was also so very special to welcome back two of our former pupils, Annie and Fionnah, who are home from university. Seeing you both back in class tonight was just like old times and even more special to have you back where you belong, and that you were here to share Amy and Christina’s final class.

Christina and Amy, as you both begin this new chapter, we hope it brings you everything you dream of and so much more. Embrace every opportunity, believe in yourselves, work hard, dream big and, most importantly, never forget just how truly special you both are.

Always remember that no matter where life takes you, Phelan will always be here for you.

Tweenies Dance classes ~ Age 2+ 🩰

Our Tweenies classes are a gentle and fun introduction to dance, designed especially for our youngest dancers from 2 years+.
In a nurturing, welcoming environment, children can explore movement, music and creativity while building confidence, learning new skills and, most importantly, having lots of fun! 💕

Whether your little one is already twirling around the living room or is completely new to dance, we'd love to welcome them to Phelan School of Dance 💙

A huge congratulations to Ella, Genna & Madison, who travelled to Dunoon to compete at the prestigious Cowal Highland Gathering 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

For Madison and Genna, this was their very first time competing at Cowal. What an amazing milestone and experience to be part of! We couldn’t be prouder of you both.
And a very special congratulations to Ella, who achieved

A huge thank you to our wonderful School Principal, Mary Phelan for the dedication and commitment she gives to our dancers every single week. Her hard work and encouragement make opportunities like this possible.

First held in 1894, Cowal Highland Gathering is steeped in history and tradition. To see our dancers taking to the stage at an event of this calibre, surrounded by phenomenal dancers from around the world, is truly something very special.✨

We are incredibly proud of all three girls for stepping onto that stage, embracing the experience and representing the school so well 💙

✨✨✨Golden Dance Awards ‘Dance Teacher of the Year’ ✨✨✨

Congratulations to Mary who was awarded the ‘Dance Teacher of the Year’ at the Scottish Golden Dance Awards 🏆

Mary’s legacy is so much more than the countless dancers she has taught. It is the confidence she has instilled, the dreams she has encouraged and the lives she has touched along the way. Her love for dance, her unwavering belief in every child and her dedication to making dance accessible to all have created a truly special community at Phelan School of Dance. For generations of dancers and families, Mary has been a constant source of inspiration, guidance and encouragement and to be recognised amongst so many incredibly talented teachers makes this achievement even more special.

A huge thank you to everyone who took the time to nominate Mary for this award, and to all the wonderful teachers last night who offered such kind words, support and encouragement. The atmosphere was incredible, and it was a privilege to be part of such a positive, welcoming and supportive dance community, one that celebrates each other’s achievements and the love we all share for dance. Thank you Golden Dance Awards Scotland for a wonderful evening.

We’re so excited to welcome our dancers back! 💙✨

Classes restart Saturday 15th August, and we can’t wait to see all of our familiar faces and meet some new ones too! From building confidence and nurturing a love of dance, to creating friendships and memories along the way, there’s so much to look forward to.
