•Part Three•

After departing Ipswich, I made a return to my hometown club, Hearts, where I proudly served as captain once more, contributing to a total of 117 additional appearances, bringing my overall tally to an impressive 263. During this period, I also embarked on a brief loan spell at Dundee, where I participated in 6 matches before the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic disrupted our football landscape.

Upon the conclusion of my contract with Hearts, I embarked on a new chapter with Raith Rovers, showcasing my skills in 42 appearances before making the heartfelt decision to retire in July of 2022. Reflecting on my journey, I hold dear the privilege and honour of representing my nation, Scotland, on 41 occasions and scoring 4 goals. A crowning moment was undoubtedly the unforgettable 2-2 draw against England, etching a memory that forever stands as a highlight of my career.

In total, I proudly accumulated over 600 career appearances, a testament to the highs and lows that have indelibly shaped my path. While relishing the cherished triumphs, I also value the invaluable lessons learned from the challenges, which continue to guide me as I transition into a coaching role. It is my earnest aspiration to impart these lessons to the next generation of budding footballers, nurturing their potential and fostering a legacy that extends beyond the pitch.

Christophes Football Journey

• Part Two •

I began my football journey at Hearts, initially playing in U18 and reserve teams. At 18, I debuted for the first team against Dundee United, eventually making 146 appearances and becoming the league's youngest captain at 22.

On my birthday, January 31st 2009, I transferred to Wolverhampton Wanderers for £2.3 million, helping secure an English Championship title that season.

For three seasons, I played in the English Premier League, competing in iconic stadiums against top-tier opponents. Amidst highs and lows as a smaller team, I played 154 matches for Wolves before joining Ipswich Town as a free agent.

I began my football journey at my primary school in Edinburgh, playing as a defender, striker, and even a goalkeeper. Those were the days that ignited my deep passion for the sport and inspired me to further explore it. At the age of 12, I was scouted by Edina Hibs Colts, marking a pivotal point in my path. Throughout this period, I encountered numerous highs and lows, celebrating victories and learning from defeats alike. As I progressed, I was once again scouted during the U15 season, signing with Hearts U16. To be continued…..
