💡Spinning plates 💡

😵‍💫Now I can relate to this one! I have to apologise that I have been AWOL from this social media account recently! It’s seriously not easy to balance working over time, moving house, continuing with my entertainment job and running my own business! If I’m entirely honest, I’m not the greatest fan of social media for business but in this day in age, we’ve got to do it!

🧐While we are on the subject, life coaching can actually help you put down your spinning plates, work through the stack and balance your life better (can I coach myself!?)

👯‍♀️Even though my social media has been a bit quiet, my clients have been doing super well and I’ve got some 6 month catch ups and some new starts coming soon which I’m super excited about!

💡BE YOUR OWN SHOWGIRL💡

👯Ok... hear me out. I'm not suggesting jumping up on stage covered in rhinestones and feathers if that's your idea of hell. What I am suggesting is adopting a little slice of that mindset in your everyday life.

💃If you had told teenage me that I would be in a packed room performing a solo dance routine with no one else to hide behind, I would have laughed in your face! Even though I would have been terrified to do something like that in the past, I so deeply wanted to have my "showgirl moment". I changed my mindset from being a worrier and anxious about something going wrong to someone who just went for it.

🥳Was I cacking my pants at the time? Absolutely yes. Did I make some mistakes? It's me so most likely, yes. BUT IT WAS SO WORTH IT! I felt so proud that night because I proved to myself that even if something goes wrong, IT DOESNT MATTER! I proved that I could achieve anything I set my mind to. What really matters is that huge sense of achievement you get when you push yourself out of your comfort zone.

💁🏻‍♀️So next time you’re feeling worried or anxious about something, bring out that inner showgirl, showboy or showperson because they're inside all of us. Lift that chin and get those shoulders back... because you own the room!

💡WHO THE HECK AM I?💡

👋I realise that a lot of you will have no idea who the heck I am apart from the things that I have listed at the top of my profile. So, here is a short summary of the coach behind the ramblings.

🔵I am currently 27 years old.
🔵I married my lovely husband Scott during lockdown in September (mad but worth it!)
🔵I am obsessed with dogs and have two of my own. Nala the Jack Russell and Reggie the Springador (or SPLAB).
🔵I work for an NHS team who support unpaid carers in hospital and in the community.
🔵Pre-lockdown, on top of my job within the NHS, I was also a cabaret performer. I absolutely love singing, dancing and being creative.
🔵I decided to do a "year of yes" which saw me moving back to Edinburgh, scoring my dream job, qualifying as a life coach, and getting back into performing.
🔵I am so passionate about life coaching because my clients genuinely inspire me to become a better coach and keep me moving forward!

💡LETS TALK FITNESS💡

🏋🏼‍♀️Do you find yourself making grand plans to go to 5 classes a week, yoga once a week, the gym 3 times a week, go for daily walks and runs? This is something that I personally struggled with when it came to sticking with the gym.

🏃🏼‍♀️If you’re anything like me, you start out with all the enthusiasm in the world but more often than not when you are faced with the reality of a busy fitness schedule, the enthusiasm fades away pretty quickly! We then end up going back to our daily routines which doesn’t always involve regular exercise.

🚴As I was coaching others, I came to realise that I was not reflecting on my own mindset when it came to exercise and I didn’t have a plan that would ensure that I was successful in my goals.

📈Creating a plan that runs alongside your current lifestyle can help you reach your goals and allow your exercise schedule to become an integral part of your week. Not only do you get a sense of a achievement for showing up, a mindset plan encourages you to work towards an overall focused goal and vision which is key to consistency.

💪🏽By using this technique I was able to achieve my goals and began to actually enjoy the gym, which is something I never thought I’d say!

💡HOW TO BECOME MORE EMOTIONALLY INTELLIGENT💡

🫂Practice empathy- Empathy is a balance. It’s about relating to the feelings of others to support them in a way that they need. However, being overly empathetic can also drag you down if you take too much on board. Try and strike a balance.

💭Understanding- You can disagree with others but still understand their views. During conflict, practice some understanding and reflect on why someone might be behaving in a certain way. Understanding leads to more productive conversations.

👀Perspective- Try to broaden your view. We get stuck seeing the world from the same perspective when there are a million different ways to perceive things! Give yourself time to imagine different scenarios and outcomes. Changing your perspective is particularly useful when we are faced with barriers whilst working towards goals.

🎮Let go of the idea that you can control others’ actions. We only have control over ourselves and how we act.

❌Let go of your fear of mistakes. It’s okay to make mistakes. Use the experience to learn and view it with humour. Making mistakes doesn’t make you stupid, it makes you human, and sometimes even funny.

💆🏻‍♂️Let go of caring what others think. Prioritise how you feel about yourself. Be the your own version of beautiful, happy and content.

🔮Let go of the things you cannot change. Don’t wish that things could be the way they once were. Bring yourself into the present where life is happening. You can’t change the past; you can only make decisions today to help how your future turns out.

💭“What would you do today if you had 100% confidence in yourself?”

🤩I love this as a coaching question as it really encourages clients to think about their goals for themselves “if only they had the confidence.”

🔓It’s in there and coaching is a great way to unlock your inner boss and prove to yourself that you have that confidence to achieve your most desired goals. You are that person, and we can make it happen!
