Tired of drivers always getting priority? Want to see Britain finally follow in the footsteps of Scandinavian countries and reverse its long history of over-prioritising cars? If successful, this petition would see those who drive and produce toxic carbon emissions pay for their detrimental actions, and give us cyclists the justice we deserve.

We would like to say a huge thank you for all the support everyone has given our campaign to get more people cycling in Birmingham – it truly means a lot. Campaign Round Two comes to an end today at 5pm but there is still time to support us by signing the petition if you haven’t already. We have sent a proposal to Birmingham City Centre to install a new segregated cycle lane on Hagley Road alongside the petition and we hope to receive a reply from them. We couldn’t have done it without your help!

If you have been following our campaign, we would really appreciate it if you could let us know your thoughts on the work we have done. There will be a series of questions in our Instagram story which you can answer which will help us better understand how our campaign was received by you.

You may have noticed that we’ve added more highlights to our profile where we have collated informative posts together into different topics. If you need some cycling inspiration, check out the ‘Get Cycling!’ highlight.

Happy cycling everyone!

Best wishes,
Cycle for Brum

Cycling with a cycling club is a brilliant way to feel more motivated and meet likeminded people. This is
great for your mental health both due to the exercise and the social aspect.

As COVID restrictions ease and the weather improves, now is a great time to consider joining a cycling
club if you haven’t already. We have compiled a list of some cycling clubs local to the Birmingham area (though there are many more!) that you may be interested in looking into and maybe joining.

FINAL PUSH FOR SIGNATURES! We are going to present this petition to the council on Monday so please do sign if you haven’t already. This is such an important issue, protecting cyclists could help boost mental and physical health as well as curbing the climate crisis.
