This weekend 🏏

Join us up at Gincroft lane this weekend. We are open Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Bar open Friday from 5:30pm. Junior training has now ended for the summer.

On Saturday 1s are at home in the final game of the season V Glossop. While the 2s make the short trip down to Totty St John's. 1pm starts.

The Rossendale hospice pub crawl will also be starting from the club. Registrations from 12-2pm

Saturdays game will be followed by the end of season do, with customary fancy dress. This year's theme is 'pub names'.

On Sunday the 3s host Bolton Indians. 1pm start.

On Saturday the 2s are at home in their penultimate game of the season V Friarmere. The 1s travel to Flowery Field. 12pm starts.

On Sunday the 3s travel to Radcliffe. 1pm start.

Unfortunately the rain won last weekend with all three fixtures being rained off. Although the 3s can find themselves somewhat thankful for the rain after being reduced to 32-7 against Walkden 🌧️

THANK YOU WAQAR!

This week we said goodbye to our brilliant professional, Waqar Ahmad, as he flies back to Pakistan to start the first class season.

It’s been a phenomenal first season at the ECG, with 910 runs and 61 wickets across all competitions, as well as being ranked in the top 10 in the league’s batting and bowling charts. Numbers like that don’t happen by accident, and the impact he’s had on the field, week in and week out, has been huge for the whole team.

But it’s been just as much about what he’s brought off the field. Waqar’s been an absolute pleasure to have around, loved by everyone at the club, always generous with his time and his advice, and brilliant with the juniors.

Thankfully this won’t be the last we see of him as he will be returning next season. Can’t wait to see him send some more stumps cartwheeling in 2027!

We wish him all the very best for the first class season in Pakistan. Go well, Waqsy!

As part of the clubs ongoing improvement plan we have made the investment in some brand new roll on covers for the club 🏏

This is another important investment in our facilities which will improve the quality, and consistency, of our wickets and help to reduce the impact of wet weather on our fixtures 💚
