Eckington Cricket Club Derbyshire The Senior side has three teams who play on Saturday in the Derbyshire County Cricket League.

🟢Cricket Club in NE Derbyshire 🟡4 Senior teams 🟢 Derbyshire County Cricket League Premier Division, 3N and 8N and Mansfield Sunday Cricket League 🟡Women’s & Girls 🟢U9s - U19s

Our ground is dog friendly but must remain on a lead please 🐕 The club is currently in a very strong position, the Junior Section runs teams at U9, U11, U13 and U15 who play in the Ben Jessop Sheffield and District Junior Cricket League and North Derbyshire Youth Cricket League. The 1st team play in the Premier League, the 2nd team play in Division 5N and the 3rd team play in Division 9N. We have two teams of senior and junior players who play on Sunday in the Mansfield and District Cricket League and a Women & Girls team who play in the South Yorkshire Women's Softball League.

💚Farewell to James Barwise 💛

After an unforgettable season in the Green & Gold, it’s time to say farewell to our Aussie, James Barwise, as he heads back to Australia 🇦🇺✈️

James has been a huge part of the club both on and off the field, making plenty of memories, runs and friends along the way. From his performances in the middle to everything he’s brought to the changing room and social side of the club (including a lovely rendition of Country Roads on the karaoke Saturday night 😂), he’s certainly left his mark on Eckington CC! 🏏

And who could forget the record-breaking partnership with KB 🔥 A huge moment in ECC history and one that will live long in the memory!

We’re incredibly grateful for everything you’ve given to the club.

All the best in your forthcoming season in Australia.

After 22 weeks of cricket, it’s time to clear up and close the ground for the winter.

Ground clear up day is this Saturday 19th September from 9am.

There are lots of jobs to do so more people will make it light work.

Bacon and sausage sandwiches and teas and coffees will be provided to those who help.

On Wednesday night, we had a fantastic evening attending the DCF Cricket Collective Awards where volunteers across Derbyshire were recognised for their hard work, commitment and contribution to cricket this season!

🏏 WEEKEND RESULTS | WEEK 21 🏏

The penultimate week of the 2026 season brought plenty of action for the Green and Gold, including a thrilling win for the 1st XI and a hard-fought draw for the 3rd XI.

⚡️1st XI vs Chesterfield CC

A dramatic 3-run victory for our 1st XI in a proper thriller against Chesterfield!

ECC were bowled out for just 76, with Liam Musselwhite (sponsored by Ellenvale Interiors) top-scoring with 17, supported by Josh Andrews (12) (sponsored by Goose Sports) and Hamish Gill (11) (sponsored by Collab Flooring).

With only 77 needed, Chesterfield headed out to bat thinking the job was already done… 👀 But the Green and Gold had other ideas!

A brilliant bowling display saw the visitors bowled out for just 73, with Nathan Musselwhite (sponsored by Highest Peak Fitness) leading the way with superb figures of 4-29 from 10 overs. Steve Ludlam (sponsored by Chapel St Leonards Holidays) picked up 3-11, while James Barwise (sponsored by Ellenvale Interiors) took 2-4.

76 looked nowhere near enough… until it was!💚💛

⚡️2nd XI vs Belper Amateurs CC

Defeat for our 2nd XI away at Belper Amateurs.

ECC batted first and posted 124, with Alex Hardy (sponsored by Barnsley Lifting Service) top-scoring with 32, followed by Danny State (sponsored by Skills Solutions Group) with 24 and Aaron Green (sponsored by The Handsworth Inn) with an unbeaten 22.

In reply, Belper Amateurs reached 127-2 to take the victory. Ben Truby (sponsored by Ellenvale Interiors) was the pick of the ECC bowlers with figures of 2-20.

⚡️3rd XI vs Ridgeway CC

A hard-fought losing draw for our 3rd XI against Ridgeway.

The hosts posted 230-5 from their 40 overs, with Rich Mason (sponsored by DP Services Machinery Removals LTD) picking up 2-50 and James Mackley taking 1-29.

In reply, ECC finished on 166-7, with Rich Thomas (sponsored by Rich Tone Music) leading the way with an excellent unbeaten 60 from 99 balls.

⚡️Sunday XI vs Grassmoor Works CC

Unfortunately, the weather had the final say, with our Sunday XI fixture against Grassmoor Works called off.

With just one week of the season remaining, it’s all to play for! 👀
