Our final award is to our Players' Player of the Season.

This year, it goes to Elena Pinto. Elena has had a real breakout year, initially playing as a full back because of her relentless energy and ability to press. However she spent the latter part of the season in midfield or on the wing and was instrumental in creating a number of chances and goals.

Here's what the players had to say:
- She's like a machine
- Strong is whatever position she plays in, a player to always rely on!
- Outstanding energy and determination in every game.
- Consistently on it every game, gives it her all and is relentless wherever she's playing. She’s been a consistent player all season!

Next up, our Teammate of the Season award goes, for the second year running, to Nicola Greenfield!

Nic is just an absolute delight to have on the pitch. Always good for a laugh and a goal or two! Here's what our players had to say:

- Without fail, Nic would always come up with a funny comment or big us up as a team during games.
- Always keeping spirits high.
- Shes great all round, helpful upfront and just a great team player.
- Always positive and encouraging no matter what is happening on the pitch.

Starting off our big three awards today: the Manager's Player of the Season.

This year sees Em Smith take the accolade for her fantastic performances across the midfield. Em has been brilliant at driving the team forward, not afraid to dribble past her opponents or track back to support the defenders.

A lot of love for all our team today in the PotM vote with at least 9 players getting at least one vote from our players and the supporters today. However, our winner today is Eva!

Eva played on the right side of our back four today and certainly had her hands full with Frickley utilising their pace out on the flank. She read the game well, making some vital interceptions and blocks, as well as tracking her opponents constantly to not give them any time on the ball in dangerous positions. A really solid performance! Well done Eva!

And with that, the 2024/25 season comes to a close.

The chapter closes for everyone currently connected to the Belles will players and management moving on to pastures new.

We finished with a high intensity game that had a bit of everything. Main highlights for us were seeing Laura back on the pitch for a cameo '10 minutes' after missing the latter half of the campaign, Amy making a good few saves, some proper bodies on the line defending from the back 4, a couple of decent breaks through and of course a lovely free kick goal from Becki.

Aaaand it's finally here. The end of a season and the end of chapter. It's been a privilege to work with all of these players over the last 2 seasons. Huge shout out to all the Belles, past and present, who have helped get us to this point.

The words 'final match' have never been more true with significant changes to the playing staff and management coming in pre-season.

The final game for this current squad of Belles will be held tomorrow at 2pm at Leisure United Westfield on the top pitch. Note this is different from our usual home matches.

Ahead of this game, we give a massive thank you to everyone who has cheered us on at matches, dropped us some love on social media or contributed through sponsorship.

It's been a tough old season but lets see it out the way we do best. Kicking a ball around with a huge smile on our face.

Well that was certainly something... I don't think I've ever seen a manger/linesman heckled by kids circling the pitch on a tiny motorbike before...

Scawthorpe Ultras aside, it was a good game for our Belles who had a real backs-to-the-wall job on their hands against second in the league (and the team who hit 16 past us much earlier in the season).

Chances for always going to be at a premium for us against such a youthful and quick side but we did at least get on the scoresheet when Em expertly guided a Nic corner into the net. (Video should play in our Facebook comments).

Some real resolute performances all round but PotM goes to Amy for some of those good saves that stopped the game from ever really getting too far away from us (and for diving at all onto that rock solid pitch).

Good game ladies. Only one left now- onto Frickley next week!

Final post of the night is our PotM award - as always, voted for by our players.
No idea how anyone was able to pick from our incredible team today. We had Amy in goal making some crucial saves, including a couple of 1 on 1s and a free kick tipped over the bar. The defenders of Eva, Ellen, Maddie and Mills who were really tight throughout the game, marshalling some very quick West End strikers. Mills also venturing forwards in the second half to create chances for herself and others. Nic of course dropping back and bagging two goals herself. Our midfield ran their socks off all game. Em Smith creating chances at one end and then making last ditch blocks at the other. Elena changed the game when she became an attacking outlet on the right, beating her player consistently and putting so many balls into the box. Ellie playing centrally and bringing others into play with 3 assists, hattrick hero Becki up there too creating and scoring. PotM however ends up going to Stacie. Again, changed the game when she became more attacking as the game went on and really stretched the defence. Linked up beautifully with the other attackers and was deeply unlucky to only end the match with 2 goals.
A big shoutout to all of players today but congratulations to our PotM Stacie!

A busy day for Becki who made headlines for two reasons today - the first was our first yellow card of the season (and I believe our first yellow card since I took over last season too).

However, we won't mention that too much because the main story is definitely the hattrick! Three very well taken goals in addition to being such an integral part of pretty much every attack we had, often dropping deeper to collect the ball and spread it out wide, before running into the box to try and get on the end of the crosses. A near perfect performance!
