Everyone at Ecclesfield Red Rose JFC would like to congratulate our Treasurer and Groundsman, Dave Solway, on receiving the Sheffield & Hallamshire County FA Grassroots Football Awards – Highly Commended Bobby Moore Award.

This recognition is incredibly well deserved.

Dave is the backbone of our club. His dedication, hard work and commitment behind the scenes are second to none. Quite simply, without Dave, there wouldn't be an Ecclesfield Red Rose JFC as we know it today.

For many of our families, Dave has been there from the very beginning of their child's football journey. Whether it's preparing pitches in all weathers, managing the club's finances, or quietly getting on with countless jobs that often go unnoticed, he does it all without ever asking for recognition.

Even though his own sons have long since finished playing, Dave continues to give his time purely for the love of grassroots football and to ensure every child has the same opportunities his family once enjoyed.

Volunteers like Dave are the lifeblood of grassroots football. His selflessness, humility and unwavering commitment have helped shape our club and created opportunities for hundreds of young players over the years.

Dave, this award is a fitting recognition of everything you do for Ecclesfield Red Rose JFC.

We are incredibly proud of you, and we can't thank you enough for everything you continue to do for our club.
