Ebbw Vale Cricket Club were once again pleased to welcome a number of local organisations to the pavilion this evening in order to present them with donations from the proceeds of our recent firework display. Over twenty organisations benefitted including Blaenau Gwent Foodbanks, Hospice of the Valleys, Pinc, BG Toy Appeal, Motor Neurone Defiance Trust and many more deserving causes.
Our club works closely with members of the Fire Service each year to put on a spectacular display for the commmunity to enjoy and raise much needed funding for a variety of good causes.
A big thank you to Matt Yates (SWFRS) and Nick Pepper(EVCC) for organising and to the stewards and ticket vendors in helping to make this event a success each year.
Having supported community groups for over twenty years we look forward to continue helping more community groups next year.

Ebbw Vale Cricket Club junior sessions start this month at the indoor cricket school, Eugene Cross Park,.
Under 15s will start Wednesday 15th at 6pm

under 13s will start on Friday 17th at 6pm

under 11s will start on Friday 17th at 5pm

Please note under 9s will start in the New Year.

All sessions carried out by ECB Level 2 and Level 3 Coaches

Players old and new are all welcome, if you would like any further information please message us and we will only be too glad to answer them
We have had an established junior section for over forty years and have produced players who have played for various Wales age groups and Glamorgan County Cricket Club. We have excellent practice facilities and one of the best grounds in South Wales, having hosted First Class fixtures and Wales Minor Counties games.

Saturday 15th March marks the 10th Anniversary of the asset transfer of the indoor cricket school from the local authority to Ebbw Vale Cricket Ltd. As a voluntary social enterprise we have worked extremely hard during this period to bring it up to the standard we see today. Thanks to numerous grants, investment of our own funds and the dedication of some valued volunteers, the facility has gone from a tired, run down, unsafe building, on the verge of closure to what we like to think is a clean, safe, and modern facility, albeit with work still to do!! Of course we would like to thank our valued customers over the years for using the facility, without them this project wouldn't have been feasible. Well over £100,000 has been spent on upgrading the building over the ten years and we continue to strive to further improve the building for future users.
It has been used by clubs, individuals, schools, national teams from, juniors, Wales National Counties through to the seniors of the over 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's. It has also used by Coleg Gwent and the local community for a variety of events including the Hindu festival of Navratri. The cricket school has hosted coach education courses, first aid courses, and umpire courses and also played a major role in producing several players who have gone on to become current professionals. It continues to draw customers from all over Wales and in fact the UK, with players from Ess*x and Manchester receiving coaching here in the past two weeks.
Without the dedication of a small band of volunteers and helpers this wouldn't have been possible, and a special mention must go to the grant funders who have supported us along the way. The facility plays a major role in Welsh Cricket and the importance it plays within the game probably goes unnoticed within Ebbw Vale and it is a facility that they should be proud to have in the locality. Hopefully, we can maintain the progress for the next 10 years and keep on producing young cricketers both amateur and professional, and a facility for players of all ages, s*x and ability and also for other community activities.
