🥋 A Message from the Coaching Team 🥋

Sadly this Saturday will be Kian’s last classes with us for the time being as he takes a step back from coaching to focus on other opportunities and commitments.

Kian has been a huge part of the club for the last few years as a coach, mentor and role model to many of our members. From helping students take their first steps in martial arts to supporting our competition team at national events, his contribution to the club has been significant.

We would like to thank Kian for all of his hard work, commitment and the countless hours he has invested in helping our members develop both on and off the mats.

We’re sure you’ll all join us in wishing him every success for the future, and we look forward to seeing what comes next for him.

🥋 TAGB Colour Belt Gradings 🥋

Our upcoming grading is an opportunity for students to demonstrate the progress, discipline and skills they have been developing in class.

All gradings are conducted by World Master Gianni Peros, TAGB 8th Dan Black Belt, and students are assessed on the grading syllabus appropriate to their belt level. Extra learning resources can be found on the CBMA closed Facebook group.

During the grading, students will be tested on:
• Patterns
• Line work
• Korean terminology relevant to their belt and lower grades
• Sparring for Green Belts and above

Please note that Korean terminology is tested at grading, although this is not extensively covered during regular classes, so students should ensure they revise this at home alongside their syllabus work. The relevant terminology for their belt level can be found at https://www.blackbeltschools.com/syllabus/koreanquiz.asp

Students are invited to grade only when their instructors believe they are ready, as we aim to ensure every student progresses confidently and to the best of their ability. We strongly encourage students to focus on developing strong technique and understanding at each belt level rather than rushing through the grading system, particularly as Black Belt gradings require knowledge and performance of the full syllabus.

Important Information:
• Grading Fee: £30
• White Dobok required
• Valid annual TAGB membership/licence required
• Green Belts and above must spar

🎓 Little Tigers Graduation Programme 🎓

We are pleased to announce that bookings are now open for our Little Tigers Graduation Programme.

The graduation is designed to assess and celebrate the progress each child has made during their time in the Little Tigers classes. Throughout the session, children will complete a number of structured stations where they will demonstrate the skills they have been developing in class from the key areas within their Tiger Book, including:

• Control
• Teamwork
• Focus
• Balance
• Coordination
• Memory
…and more.

Upon successful completion of the graduation, each child will receive a certificate and a new Tiger Belt to recognise their achievement and progress.

The graduation focuses specifically on the skills and development within the Little Tigers programme, helping determine whether a child is ready to progress to their next Tiger Belt and take on more advanced activities within the class.

Please note:
• Graduation fee: £22
• Children must have attended classes for a minimum of 12 weeks before taking part
• Places must be booked in advance
• Children may wear either their Little Tigers uniform or Little Tigers T-shirt
