Marine conservation: whilst the boys were in Orkney, Sarah (H), our branch Marine Conservation Champion was away in North Wales.
She met other champions and BSAC members to remove invasive w**d from a lake. She had a fantastic dive experience and helped support the care of a lake with rare biodiversity, including being one of the only habitats for the rare Arctic char fish. Her dogs were very pleased to greet her on her return to the surface. Thankyou Sarah for representing us and

Socials catchup take 2: Our second May bank holiday started off not looking so promising with the weather, but turned out to be glorious if not more wind than expected. There were many South Wales clubs launching, and so a chance to catch up with friends.
We dived Hand Marks, Wattick Bay, and Behar over the weekend. It was great to see some of our newer divers out with us. And a great achievement for Jo on completion of her sports diver qualification. πŸŽŠπŸ§œβ€β™€οΈ

A little bit of socials catching up!
We had a great May BH weekend out on the cobra - visiting stack rock, wooltack point, Liney head, the Dakotion and of course the Lochshiel over the weekend. Over the 3 days we had many divers in the water. There was lots of life below the waterline and seals on top. We camped locally and enjoyed a social paella πŸ₯˜. With a warming hot chocolate on the ladt day to finish πŸ˜‹

Our first day of adventures on our "new to us" Cobra. With thanks to all the help from and the club members to get Valley Diver launched from Gelliswick. With gorgeous weather, big springs, we stayed within the Haven for her first day out. Everyone had a go at getting a feel for being back at the helm. Rewarded with a good day of diving and a cold one at the end of the day. Pics thanks to Miles.

The warming up after isn't bad too. Our fantastic shore cover yesterday helped with kitting up and de-kitting when cold fingers slowed things down. It was great to have Sarah H on management and David and Miles on assist. Cake was delicious and courtesy of Miles with a debrief in the local -The Plough at Charfield by a real fire -very cozy.
