Equine Body Work

Equine Body Work is the therapeutic application of professional sports massage techniques and passive stretching, applied to a horse. This requires a thorough understanding of anatomy, together with knowledge of the interaction of bones, joints and muscles. Regular Equine Body Work has been proven to enhance performance and overall health and well being, acting as a preventative maintenance. As with other professional athletes, regular sports massage can help with:

* increasing range of motion and enhancing gait quality
* improving stamina, suppleness and flexibility
* improving disposition and providing relaxation, relieving tension
* aiding rehabilitation by preventing muscle wastage and relieving
boredom
* muscles associated with an orthopaedic issue, which can be kept flexible
and free from pain
* improving circulation

Please be aware that Body Work is not a replacement or substitute for veterinary attention; veterinary opinion must be sought if there is any doubt. Showjumping/Riding Coaching

Louise offers tuition in flatwork and showjumping and enjoys teaching riders of all abilities, taking pride in instilling confidence in both horse and rider. Also offered is “show day” coaching, including help and advice in course walking and warming up in preparation for your round. Horse Schooling

Louise specialises in producing and competing top quality show jumpers for owners, clients and breeders; she has been employed in this area, full time, for 16 years. She has qualified for and ridden at a variety of UK national championships across all of the age class categories. Louise can offer schooling sessions consisting of flatwork or jump training. Educational weekend at the David Landreville clinic. I absolutely love his approach with horses, compassionate, considerate and dedicated. It’s the second clinic of his that I’ve attended, and he’s really opened my eyes to a different (and I think much better) approach to handling horses for hoof trimming and everything else. The problem ones for trimming, which many HCP would probably describe as difficult and badly behaved, turn into cooperative and (hopefully not anthropomorphising them too much) grateful horses happy to have their feet trimmed, with his calm considerate approach. I absolutely love learning new things and different approaches, there’s always more to learn, and I’d need many lifetimes to learn as much as I’d like to.

Of course even on holiday, I went to see some horses 😁 super day out to watch the 3* 1.50 at Megeve today. Great class to watch and nice to see some top riders jumping. Made me miss doing shows, so can’t wait to get my knee sorted out so I can get back to it soon! 🤞

Spend lots of time money and effort trying to provide cool areas to shelter for the horses in the heat. Horses then go to the hottest area possible for a nap 🫣🙄🤣 Why do I bother?! 🤣🤣

My knee, now upgraded with some shiny new hardware—holding my ACL graft together like it means business 🫣

Had my follow-up today and the surgeon says it’s solid 🙌 I mentioned I’m thinking of getting back on a horse soon… cue the look of horror 😅 followed by a gentle reminder that horses are, in fact, large and unpredictable.

So we’ve reached a very sensible agreement: I’ll ride this week… and make excellent life choices, like trying not to fall off 🤞🤣

Since everyone else has done one, here's mine 😅

Happy New Year! 🎉

A huge thank you to all of you—clients and friends alike—for your amazing support and loyalty throughout what’s been a busy, rewarding, and truly incredible year, packed with adventures and plenty of horsey moments 🐴.

It’s been an absolute joy working with so many fantastic horses and their owners, both familiar faces and new ones. I’m so grateful for the trust you place in me when it comes to your horses.

Work has kept me fully occupied lately—apart from a quick ski trip 🎿 since I’m not allowed to ski for a whole year after my ACL surgery. And in case anyone didn’t know—no, I didn’t take a tumble on the slopes! The surgery was planned well in advance.

Thanks so much for your patience over the next few weeks while I take some well-deserved time to rest and recover.

To keep myself entertained (and stop me getting bored!), I’m planning to dive into some CPD 📚—because there’s always more to learn about my favourite subject: horses!

Once I’m feeling fit and well again, I can’t wait to get back to doing what I love—helping you and your horses—and continuing this journey together.

Wishing you all a peaceful, happy, and fulfilling year ahead ✨
