This page is monitored and anything deemed offensive will be removed. The club was founded in May 1989 as a community youth football club based at the Wyvern School campus in Fair Oak and now has around 300 boys and girls playing in teams ranging from under 7’s up to Mens. Wyvern's home ground is based at the Lapstone Playing Fields, Fair Oak. We are the largest youth football club in the local area and are partnered with Southampton Football Club who provide professionally qualified coaches to all age groups. Over 85% of the players live in the Fair Oak and Horton Heath area, with the remainder largely coming from Eastleigh and Hedge End.

U11 Storm Match report

Our U11 Storm were away to Clanfield this morning for the season opener.

The sun was out, the football was great to watch and all of the girls on both teams worked hard throughout the whole game.

It was great to see the girls back playing.

What an excellent start to the season! The girls really put into practice everything they learned last year - strong and quick to react with a great work ethic so proud of them all.

🔴⚽️ THE 2026/27 SEASON IS UNDERWAY! ⚽️🔴

And just like that… WE’RE BACK! 🙌

Today saw Wyvern Athletic U10s kick off their brand-new season with an away fixture against AFC Stoneham Hurricanes – a new opposition for the boys and a brilliant way to get our football underway again.

After weeks of training and preparation, it was fantastic to see the boys back out on the pitch playing together, working hard for one another and showing plenty of determination, resilience and some great football along the way.

Plenty to celebrate on the pitch today too:

A huge well done to our goal scorers Eadric, Dylan & Zach 👏⚽️

Some cracking finishes and, more importantly, a great team effort creating the opportunities.

A fantastic performance from Dylan today, showing strength, determination and confidence throughout, as well as getting himself on the scoresheet. A thoroughly deserved first Coaches’ Player of the Match of the season! 👏

Most importantly, it was brilliant to see the team back together doing what they love.

Some great football for everyone playing today, a good experience for our own players and some great fun for both sides.

Our Wyvern Wolves coaches attended the Hampshire FA Go Cardless grassroots football awards last night, held at the Utilita bowl.

They were delighted to receive the ‘EDI heroes award’ 🏆, which recognises people and organisations who carry out extraordinary work to better equality , diversity and inclusion within the Hampshire grassroots football community.

Our impairment specific comets sessions for children with Cerebral Palsy, was launched in March 2025. Our coaches have given the players the opportunity to play the ‘beautiful game’ in an environment that is fun , safe and inclusive ⚽️

We would like to thank Hampshire FA and the Hamble rotary club for supporting our session through funding , training and advice

End of season awards are starting to finish now, but some good times have been had recently.

Our U11 Spitfires celebrating their first season as a team, a brand new started and a season that was enjoyed by everyone. Well done Spitfires!

Also our U12 Dragons had their awards last week, where plenty of awards were given out and they all celebrated a fantastic season as a team. Well done Dragons!

We hope all of our teams enjoyed their end of season celebrations. ⚽️ 👏🏻

🔴 U10 (26/27) Saints at Wi******er Tournament

This weekend the boys played in the Wi******er Football Club tournament

Playing teams as far away as Swindon and against academy and top division teams the boys were absolutely outstanding in all their 7 matches narrowly missing out on progression to the knockout stages.

The attitude and commitment from every single player shone through against some elite opposition.

They had a great day and thanks Wi******er for a fantastic event.
