Dance is a slow burner. You can't rush strong technique and you can't cram for ballet exams.

I absolutely love teaching the Affiliate Programme, and today my first little group to follow the programme from the beginning took their first RAD vocational class. I was so proud of them and so impressed by their deep understanding of technique, ability to apply it to much more complicated work with ease, and embrace new challenges. They are so ready for their next stage of their training and I am excited to watch their journeys unfold over this next year🥹

What a joy and a privilege it is to teach and what a fantastic start to the term school year!

Everyone is back at school today and it's back to the studio for me. Looking forward to seeing my ladies this morning and all my seniors tonight 💜

"I taught them dance" simply doesn't do it justice 🥹

"It’s a part of our childhood, it's part of who we are" is much nearer the mark.

Who would have thought that joining dance class as a tiny tot would be valued by your child so much into adulthood 🫶

I arrived at an event that I knew I would take value from, but then I had an unexpected lightbulb moment.

A chat with a coach led to a piece to camera, which led to me speaking on the mic in front of over 100 people about my journey over the past year. I am proud of how far I have come but in all honesty there is an element of shame and embarrassment about how hard life was just 8 months ago, although nobody on the outside saw it. Nobody ever likes to share anything but the highlights online, but we are all human, and sometimes we all have struggles. If my story helped just 1 person in that room, then I feel grateful and honoured.

To find myself in a space where I feel safe and comfortable enough to share so openly with so many people made me think...

This is the kind of safe space I want our dance school to be for our students and families. I hope that it is! It feels as though it is, and I am forever grateful for our wonderful dancers and families and they are never taken for granted.🫶

Dance year 2025-26 has been a journey!

Immensely proud of all our amazing students Piqué School of Performing Arts in Eastleigh and forever grateful for the wonderful community we have built. It's not just the dancers, but also their parents, their wider families, the teachers, the teachers families, our adult dancers and every single person we come into contact with who helps us all along the way and is a part of creating opportunities for our students. Enjoy some well earned R&R everyone!

We're not in the studio, but we're not entirely out of office over the coming month, and we have very many exciting plans for next year already in motion!

Where did 20 years go?!

In the spring of 2006, I came home from dancing on cruise ships and discovered my true calling.

As another dance year draws to a close I am forever grateful to all the teachers who helped and inspired me over the years, my family and friends who believed in me and supported me, the dance parents who have trusted me with their children, and every single one of my beautiful students for giving me the best job in the world💜

Feeling blessed ☺️

You can have the best teachers in the world, but at the end of the day, only you can put the hard graft in!

When the spin instructor shouts, "turn up that blue dial" the only person who can actually do it is you. It's up to you how much you put in. If you have 100% to give, put in 100%. If some days you only have 50% left in the tank, then give 50%.

Then, take time to rest and recharge. Recover properly. Refuel. Rehydrate. Reset and be ready to give your all again the next time. It's all about consistency and it pays off in the end.

Let's see those rosie faces in class and show everyone what we can do! 🥵💪
