Great day at Englands Strongest man, ended up coming 20th out of 30 in the open category (with the bigger boys) i am happy with my performance as i almost didnt bother going as ive been ill for most of the year. (Thanks .butts for convincing me to go) Deadlift is my definite weakness but was feeling good in warm ups so went for the 240 but missed it and still got a pb of 5 reps on the 210 but this was 29th place so no quite last! Axle clean and jerk is definitely my strength coming joint 3rd with 2 reps at 130kgs missing out on 3rd rep and should have attempted again as i had loads of time Husafel bag went better than expected going 70meters for an 11th place finish i think i could have got a bit further if i hadnt stopped to readjust grip! Farmers went better than expected and i think i could have maybe finished the 130kg if i had commited to it but played it safe and was 20th Last event i had always planned to do the 120 sandball but decided the 140 was doable (it hadnt been in training) and got 2 reps with it which was a big surprise!

Every January many people struggle with seasonal blues. One effective way to navigate this period and promote a more positive outlook is to prioritise your own health & wellbeing.
This could be getting outside during the day to soak up daylight, prioritising sleep and eating healthy balanced meals
Or you could choose to stay active and focus on exercising.
Book that gym session and beat the January Blues!

Come to one of our fun group classes or you could just come for a run with me!
I’ve been trying to prioritise my cardio at the end of last year and I find it harder to just “go for a run” compared to having a gym session booked. But I have been treating my runs like a gym class by booking it in my calendar then I have a routine I can stick too.
Running with others can help motivate you. So if you wanna join me on a run, just drop me a DM and we’ll book it.

It’s our Birthday!
Did you know have been open for 6 years today? We actually opened in 2020 just 2months before the pandemic sent the world into Lockdown. Such a challenging start for our gym but we our wonderful members helped us create our DSF community and support each other during lockdown.
Who remembers Dale doing all our classes on zoom and the weekly zoom quizzes which were a fun way to end the week?

It might be cold outside but  the heaters are on so come  warm up with us!
