1: Close Quarter Combat

He is an Instructor to British Military Special Forces and has been recognised & honoured for his service. He is CEO of his own security, bodyguard and military combat training company which has existed for many years. He advises and teaches civilian, military and security personnel and agencies from around the world. He also runs regular Self Defence classes suitable for all abilities.
2: Chinese Kung Fu

Master McKinney studied in the People’s Republic of China
He has as his Masters the most skilled of Chinese martial artists. He is highly graded with them and was awarded the grade “Master” in 1989 by Grandmaster Jifu Huang. He was awarded the grade “Grandmaster” in 1994 by Grandmaster Jifu Huang
He teaches regular seminars in Wushu.
3: Japanese Karate

He has a formidable reputation and long documented history in this field. His Ikken Hissatsu Karate classes are both traditional and practical
Incorporating Shotokan, Goju-Ryu, Sh*to Ryu and Kyokushin Styles
4*: Anglo Celtic Martial Arts




This system is Master McKinney’s own system which he developed over very many years. It incorporates striking, locking and throwing, shoot wrestling, ground grappling and ancient and modern weapons. Anglo Celtic Martial Arts Association keeps alive the martial heritage and traditions practised by the people of England, Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland, Wales and the people of Europe. This is a practical based, martial art system.
5*: Anglo Celtic Stick Fighting (Combat Cane)

A practical, stick based fighting system. A stick fighting system based on Eastern and Western techniques. Using sticks ranging from 6 inches to 6ft but specialising in 3ft Celtic Heavy Stick (mostly Blackthorn). Incorporating routines, strikes, locks and throws. Also involving kicks, punches elbows etc. A very practical system. Stick Fighting was practised in many countries throughout history. It draws on English, Irish, Scottish, Welsh, European and Asian traditions.
6*: Western Martial Arts:

Kickboxing (semi and full contact). Master McKinney’s students have won competitions at National and International level in Freestyle *Kickboxing and Chinese Full Contact Sanda
Also in Muay Thai at the Kings Cup in Thailand. He has trained from scratch, British, European and World Champion Students
*Wrestling (Northern English Shoot/Submission wrestling)
Master McKinney studied in and trained in wrestling since he was a youngster
He has studied, taught and trained in and Cumberland, Westmoreland, Shoot/Submission & Pankration styles
7*: The Healing Arts

Master McKinney was and is a pioneer of Tai Chi and Qigong Chinese Health Exercise in Great Britain
He is Internationally recognised. He was the first person outside China to teach it in Western hospitals. He has taught his Tai Chi/Qigong/Ling Qi system in drug rehabilitation units, heart rehabilitation units, head injury units, psychiatric units, special needs units, elderly homes, schools, ballet schools, martial arts schools, in large corporations etc. Master McKinney taught at Walton Hospital Pain Relief Centre in Liverpool for many years. His system was blueprinted for use in pain management centres around Britain
He acted as advisor to these other centres for many years
He was commissioned by an international pharmaceutical company to write an exercise booklet for chronic pain sufferers
This booklet had a first print run of 500,000, and went on to a second run
Master McKinney formulated a Taiji/Qigong exercise system for Spina Bifida which is very successful
Master McKinney has appeared on British Television and International Satellite television several times to demonstrate Tai Chi & Qigong
He has also been interviewed and featured on BBC Radio programmes
Alongside this he studied and taught meditation
He studied and received initiation from one of the highest recognised Tibetan Buddhist Masters
Master Mckinney studied with and received Initiation from this very famous and enlightened Tibetan Buddhist Kagyu Lineage Master. He studied the Vajrayana System taking Bodhisattva Vows and subsequently taught meditation under his new Buddhist name Karma Dondrub Puntso
He is a recognised Ling Qi - Spirit Energy (Reiki) Master. He teaches group and private sessions in the healing arts.
