Dorothy House is a lifeline for thousands across our communities, providing free, personalised palliative and end-of-life care when and where it is most needed – including support for our own Peeka Hurt You and her family. Their team supports people at home, in clinics, and in care homes, ensuring no one faces death alone. However, increasing costs are making this challenging, which is where the Life Lines appeal comes in. Running for 36 hours from 10am on Sunday 7th December, this appeal aims to raise £350,000 to help continue this vital work – and every donation made will be doubled thanks to generous matched funders, so this is a huge opportunity to give them a significant boost. Please help us to spread the word about this appeal, and if you can spare a donation of any size (which will be automatically doubled before 10pm on Monday) it would be hugely appreciated 💜

📢 Important Announcement: Eastbourne Roller Derby 💔

It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Eastbourne Roller Derby will be closing at the end of August.

For over 14 wonderful years, ERD has been a vibrant community where skaters, officials, and supporters came together to celebrate their passion for roller derby. 🛼❤️ Sadly, like many clubs, we’ve experienced a steady decline in numbers in recent years, and after much consideration, we’ve made the difficult decision that continuing is no longer viable.

We know this news will be a blow to many of you—whether you’ve been on track, on the bench, or cheering in the crowd. From all of us at ERD, thank you from the bottom of our hearts for every moment of dedication, passion, and community spirit you’ve shared with us. 🙏✨

Looking to the Future 🌟
We remain hopeful that something positive will grow from this change. One shining highlight over the years has been Eastbourne Extreme, an event we’ve proudly hosted and cherished. 🎉🔥

We want to see this event continue and thrive—and so we’re looking to form a new committee to carry Eastbourne Extreme forward.

Alright, listen up, EX Team GB Junior Roller Derby Legends of Yesteryear!

We know you're busy reminiscing about "the good old days," but our current team needs your help. After running rings around the Teesside Skate Invaders last week, they're looking for their next challenge: YOU!

We're putting out a call for 12-15 ex-GB players to join a scrimmage on Sunday, 22nd June, from approximately 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM at Greenfield Academy, Newton Aycliffe.

This is a prime opportunity to either show these youngsters you've still got the magic, or, more realistically, give them some fantastic practice dodging experienced (but perhaps slightly slower) bodies.

Application deadline for Eastbourne Extreme - 2025 -THE roller derby event of the year (World Cup - who dat??) is THIS THURSDAY!!! Get a move on!! 😜

Eastbourne Extreme is fast approaching! We are asking for applications for the Saturday 19th & Sunday 20th July games. They will be full length outside games set in our beautiful seaside location. Applications close on Thursday 6th March, successful applicants will be notified by email on 15th March...

Eastbourne Roller Derby would like to emphasise how welcome trans and gender non conforming skaters are in our league, and the wider world of roller derby.

This sport we love so much would not function without you and we can assure our community that we will never exclude anyone based on their gender.

While we would like to pretend that it doesn’t, the political climate elsewhere in the world can greatly affect us all, as trans athletes have increasingly become less welcome in competitive sports. Now with the abhorrent ban on trans women participating in women’s sports in the US we wanted to make it clear that we will stand up for trans rights.

Trans rights are human rights and trans people belong in sports.

It’s a privilege to be nonchalant but we need to be aware so we can protect members of our community.

Eastbourne Roller Derby stands with the trans community always.

OTA Intermediate/Advanced 7s Tournament – Sunday 27th April 1.45pm to 6.30pm

We are looking for 2 Intermediate/Advanced level teams to join our 7s Tournament who will play against each other and our Eastbourne and Friends team (3 teams in all, everyone plays 2 games). Games will not be open door as our hall is not large enough for this – sorry!

Teams will be selected and notified of successful application by 17th March.

💷We ask that each team to pay £100 to play.

👕Wear your own team tops

Each team can have a roster of 8 skaters
