The aim of The Friends is to restore and improve the quality of the Gardens and Park, with their various open spaces, for the enjoyment and benefit of all users of Manor Gardens and Gildredge Park. Manor Gardens have areas with different gardens, such as The Sensory Garden, Italian Garden, Rose Garden, Wild Flower Areas, Wooded Areas and Open Grassed Areas inter linked with path ways. There are al

so free to use Tennis Courts, Basketball Court and a Skate Park. Gildredge Park Bordering on to Manor Gardens, has a modern children's play area. There are wide lawn areas for informal recreation sheltered by several mature tree belts.There are also a Bowling Club and a Tennis Club.

Once again we invite you, your friends and family to come and join us for lovely cuppas and cake on Saturday, 25th July from 2pm in the beautiful setting of The Hermitage (pictured, WhatThreeWords ///tricks.barks.ended) in Manor Gardens. Other items for sale. Cash only please and all proceeds go to the upkeep of The Hermitage and the Gardens. A lovely opportunity to meet up and spend the afternoon relaxing in the dappled shade, plus supporting the work of the Friends of Manor gardens and Gildredge Park. See you there!

Hello everyone,
Once again it is time for the Friends to open up The Hermitage in Manor Gardens (location WhatThreeWords///tricks.barks.ended) from 2pm this Saturday, 27th June for you to come along and enjoy a lovely cuppa (£2) and a slice of delicious cake (£2), in the lovely surroundings of the Formal Garden and The Hermitage. Cash only please, all proceeds go towards the upkeep of The Hermitage and Gardens. The weather is looking wonderful with plenty of shade under the trees. A perfect way to spend a Summer's afternoon!

The Hermitage will be open this Saturday 30th May from 2pm. There will be tea/coffee and home made cakes (cash only). A great opportunity to see inside this lovely Georgian Folly. Plenty of historical details and fascinating photos to look through.

Spring is here and the first opening of The Hermitage (a Georgian folly, pictured) in Manor Gardens (WhatThreeWords location ///tricks.barks.ended) of the 2026 Season is Saturday, 28th March from 2pm.
Come along and enjoy a lovely cuppa and cake in the beautiful surroundings of the trees in blossom and the Formal Garden. Meet up with friends old and new, see inside The Hermitage and learn about the fascinating history of the Gardens and Park.
Cash only please. All proceeds from The Hermitage openings (on the last Saturday of every month from March to October inclusive) go towards the upkeep of The Hermitage and Manor Gardens.

Spring seems to have sprung today and the volunteers have been taking full advantage! Jobs tackled have been a good old clear out and clean up of The Hermitage (right hand image) ahead of the regular 'last Saturday in the month' openings starting in March, and checking over the flower beds and borders (left hand image) ahead of the gardening sessions commencing next Tuesday.
