It was ⚽ duty tonight with the amazing Eastbourne United AFC Recreational Football. Last minute game under the lights against Eastbourne Town FC Women and what a great way to start pre-season for the Womens Flex Ultra League and rec football.

The ladies put in an amazing effort and played some fantastic football. Super happy with our two goals. Real team goals played with good movement, communication and ex*****on. We were competitive with a team a number of tiers above us but ultimately a good game against a great bunch and everyone had a great time. Finished off with a penalty shoot out.

A big shout out as well to our sponsored athlete who scored two great goals on the night!!

Great evening and thanks to Eastbourne Town for hosting us. Good luck in the upcoming season 🖤🤍🖤🤍

The ladies have had an amazing first league season with a squad mixed with a whole range of experiences in the game. Their passion and commitment for the game and each other has shone through.

What a team, what a group of just amazing all-round human beings !! Last night's performance was fantastic. We played a great side in Bexhill and came out 4-2 winners.

First half we started well and we scored first but finished the half 2-1 down. A few adjustments at half time and a reminder of how we'd prepared and what we can do as a squad and we went out and controlled the game scoring three great team goals.

This win was not just about the matchday squad this was about the entire squad and their dedication to each other to improve and empower one another. Doing the hard yards, working through analysis even when some knew they couldn't make the fixture, they still turned up and worked hard for those who could.

The squad goes to Lewes on Sunday for a 7 a-side tournament and then onto our last game of the league season and a local derby against Pevensey & Westham where a win can secure second place in the first league season. If your free get down to Priory Lane next Friday for an 8:15 KO ⚽⚽🩵🩵

What a beautiful day and how better can you spend your evening than coming along to watch Eastbourne Borough Women's Rec play their Womens Flex Ultra League fixture against Bexhill United Ladies FC

The squad has been working hard and I can't wait to see everything put into action. This is our penultimate game in the league so all you Borough fans get down and cheer them on, 🥁🥁 and all!!

The development of the squad has been fantastic and their collective bond they have across the squad is really something special.

Athlete Appreciation Incoming!! Gabrielle rugby and more Gabrielle Collins has worked so hard this season and to be involved in her journey has been an honour!!

Her continued effort to not only improve on the pitch but also build off of it (physically and mentally) has seen consistent results leading to becoming the most improved player of the season!!!! 💙🤍🖤

With a planned progressive approach starting way back in last pre-season through to now and work with her amazing coaches Bath Rugby Ladies the sky will continue to be the limit no doubt!!

Well done Gabbie and we cannot wait to see what's next in your journey!! 🖤🤍

Yesterday we went on the road to work with Essex Rugby and their U16, U18 and senior women's squads.

We discussed mentality and physicality and how they affect sports performance and vice versa. In amateur sport we have to consider our sport, life balance and how each very much affects the other and making sure athletes understand this is vital. We can sometimes get lost in pursuit to achieve our goals but knowing when our mind and body is letting us know it needs attention will only help us achieve those goals.

There were some excellent outcomes and views on not only how we can look after ourselves but each other as a squad. A squad that trusts one another and has confidence in one another will triumph come the vital moments.

Some other things we covered were s&c, arousal curves, coping mechanisms and high pressure decision making.

It was a fantastic evening and a pleasure to work with the ladies. Looking forward to seeing all their hard work come game time soon!!
