It’s been a while since my last post, a lot has been happening behind the scenes and it’s now time to share with you all.

We say farewell to our usual surroundings of the Sport Brighton’s Eastbourne campus balcony gym at Denton Rd and moving to a new location and space at St Elizabeth’s Church in old town, Eastbourne. Classes will begin at this new location from Aug 2024.

Active Hearts Eastbourne will still be delivering phase 4 Cardiac rehabilitation programmes and low impact fitness classes for those wanting to get back into fitness after some time away or as a preventative pre-rehab class. Specific referrals will be accepted from GP’s, EDGH cardiology and independent enquiries are welcomed.

After a whirlwind week of busy events I’m finally finding the time to share some of the joys 🥰
After all the behind the scenes planning, arranging with the venue, contacting guests & getting some fun activities to do on the day finalised, it was such a wonderful way to get many of my past & current cardiac rehabilitation clients together again.
Being able to run our annual Christmas social event again after 2 years was such a special reunion for us all. Many of those attending not seeing each other or myself, since our classes stopped due to the pandemic. I’m so thankful to all of the close relationships I have formed over the years & the opportunity to be a part of their healing journey.
Not only a social event, but also a way to raise funds through our raffle & Christmas Quiz fees, going towards the running of Active Hearts cardiac rehab, Eastbourne & the British Heart Foundation too. Thank you to all who donated raffle/quiz prizes & charitably.
A big thanks to all the events team & staff at the Best Western Landsdown Hotel, Eastbourne for the perfect setting for the event, highly recommended. Amazing food, service & surroundings ✨

As it was such a special occasion, I decided to dress up fancy for a change, instead of the usual fancy dress 😂 however we still have a few classes before our holiday break, so there’s a chance for festive dress up fun to continue 😉
I’m so pleased all went well on the day & all enjoyed x The best start to December & festive feels x 💖🎄🎉

Our project is over with a whopping £820 raised! Thank you everybody for your support.

We want to say a special thank you to Alan & Laura Pierce, Evelyn Pipe, Abigail Read and Marnie Middlemiss for your pledges! Your pledges alone have paid for 5 individuals to undergo an initial assessment; which includes baseline measures (Heart Rate, functional exercise capacity, Blood pressure, exercise screening and mobility assessments) and helped fund the classes we are aiming to provide! We couldn’t run this programme without your support!

Thanks again everybody and stay tuned for more updates and more fundraising events!

Well, after 15 days the numbers are in! We have achieved a total of 1,248,613 steps between the 5 team members who took part. This roughly equates to a total of 951.44km and nearly 50,000 kcals expended!

Our sponsor page is still open until the 15th April for last minute donations, we are extremely overwhelmed by the support we’ve received so far. Our rewards for our supporters will be sorted after the 15th April so stay turned for those!
