'Pride of Sussex' the Round-headed Rampion deserves a post for Sussex day!

The County flower of Sussex, this intricate blue-purple flower is usually found on chalk grasslands.

June is a bit early to spot them, they like the warmth of mid summer to bloom.

With sunshine forecast we are expecting to be busy this weekend, so plan ahead!

๐Ÿš— Car parks will be busy with limited alternatives nearby. Hop on a bus to take the parking stress away.

๐ŸŒŠ High tide at Cuckmere Haven will be 10.02am and 10:56am, plan a safe route at the beach & river mouth.

โš ๏ธ Stay at least 5m away from the edge and base of the chalk cliffs - no selfie is worth it.

๐Ÿ’ง Come prepared with water, hat and sunscreen!

๐Ÿ—‘๏ธTake your litter with you! You'll find bins in our car parks not in the landscape.

๐Ÿ’ Water stick insect
๐Ÿ’ Water boatman
๐Ÿ’ Newt eft
๐Ÿ’ Froglet

All really positive signs of healthy dew ponds!

The visiting beef bull has moo-ved into the dry valley with the cows and calves for summer grazing.

No selfie is worth getting too close to the livestock - they have bad days too!

Top tips if you are near grazing livestock:

~ Look out for signs on gates
~ Close gates behind you
~ Keep dogs on leads
