I haven’t used whey protein since 2019

Back then I realised I was intolerant to most dairy products (including whey) and switched to vegan. And there’s probably loads of people out there who are the same but just haven’t tried it and made the switch.

I’ve had a shed load of protein powders over the years, but I actually tried a sachet of GHOST® | BE SEEN vegan protein at an expo about 3 years ago and haven’t used anything else since.

The flavours are mega! They don’t taste how you’d expect a vegan protein to taste at all (which is usually like earth 🥴) and for the quality it’s great value.

Another WIN, it’s soy free, which I know a lot of people look for and is quite rare to find in a non dairy product.

And if you wanna get into the nitty gritty, with it containing pea protein it’s highly bioavailable and rich in leucine, which makes it ideal for muscle recovery. Pea protein is also hypoallergenic, highly digestible, and generally has a lower environmental impact - so if you’re thinking about doing your bit for the planet too, well there you go 🙂🌎

People think having high standards for yourself is restrictive.

That it means saying no all the time, missing out on things, living by strict rules etc.

What’s restrictive is constantly feeling disappointed in yourself because you didn’t do what you said you would.

It’s being out of shape because you never trained consistently.

Being stressed about money because you never managed it properly.

Feeling stuck because you kept choosing what was easy over what was necessary.

High standards don’t take freedom away.

They create it.

People often just see the ‘sacrifice’. Yet they rarely see the freedom it creates.

Having a high standard for yourself can give you confidence, self respect, health, opportunities and progression.

The most restrictive thing in life isn’t discipline.
It’s regret.

A successful prep doesn’t start when the diet starts, it starts in the off season. In fact it doesn’t really just ‘start’, if you’re serious about getting better it’s an all year round thing.

The goal of an off season isn’t just to gain weight and size, it’s also to put yourself in a position where your body is efficient, responsive, and ready when it’s time to get ready for a show.

Because when the time comes to pull food down and bring the conditioning in, the athletes who had a productive off season will always have the advantage.

The better the off season, the better the prep.
The better the prep, the better the physique.
