The season included a particularly impressive run of victories π
On 22 July, Ordsall Bridon defeated Blyth CC, Notts by 10 runs, posting 99/4 from their 100 balls before restricting Blyth to 89/6. It was a strong all-round performance and an important six-point victory.
Just five days later, on 27 July, the team produced another close but composed performance against Welbeck CC, winning by 5 wickets. Welbeck made 122/4, but Ordsall Bridon successfully chased the target, finishing on 123/5.
The only defeat of the campaign came against Cuckney CC on 3 July. After being restricted to 57/7, Cuckney completed the chase with 58/2 to win by eight wickets. Crucially, the team responded positively and did not allow that result to derail the season.
That response was emphatic.
On 14 July, Ordsall Bridon bounced back by defeating Kirkby Portland CC by 9 wickets. Kirkby posted 126/9, but Ordsall Bridon made the chase look comfortable, reaching 129/1 from just 83 balls.
The season was then rounded off in style on 26 August, with a commanding 33-run victory over Clumber Park CC. Ordsall Bridon posted the highest score shown in the five-match campaign β 135/3 β before limiting Clumber Park to 102/4.

What stands out?
The most encouraging feature of the season was the teamβs ability to win in different ways. There were tight victories, such as the five-wicket win against Welbeck, dominant batting performances like the nine-wicket victory over Kirkby Portland, and strong defensive displays against Blyth and Clumber Park. The final match was arguably the perfect illustration of the season: a substantial total of 135/3 followed by disciplined bowling and fielding to secure a 33-run victory.
Finishing top of a six-team league is a fantastic achievement, particularly with the margins between the leading sides so tight. Ordsall Bridon finished ahead of Cuckney, Clumber Park, Welbeck, Kirkby Portland and Blyth.
