Luke Gallucci Body Transformation Specialist I am a Fully Qualified NVQ Level 3 Personal Trainer. I am qualified for spinning, Kettlebells training, nutrition advice and one to one personal training.

I am very passionate about health, fitness and motivating people for living a great lifestyle. my goals as a personal trainer are to help others reach lifetime goals and improve overall health. What should I eat for breakfast🤔

So this is another topic that allot of people may have different opinions on, some people like to have fats and protein for breakfast, whereas others prefer a higher carbohydrate breakfast. And some don't even have breakfast at all.

The one thing i will say is there in no one specific thing that you should stick to, you have to do what works for you as an individual.

Obviously your choices will vary on what your goals may be at the time. So let's breakdown what I believe are great choices for breakfast and the reasons behind this.

Building muscle💪🏻

💥if your goal is to build muscle, then your diet will usually have more carbohydrates than protein, as carbohydrates are muscle sparing and help prevent the breakdown of protein.

💥so it makes sense to have the majority of your carbohydrates for breakfast, as over night your body has fasted for 8-9 hours! Your muscles are starving for nutrients.

💥one of the main choices for breakfast is a good old bowl of oats!😍😋can't beat it!
With a good quality source of whey protein to aid with fast digestion to your starving muscles.

💥this has been one of my staple choices for years and still is now!

However if you are like me and suffer from stomach problems, mainly IBS. You have to find what works for you through trial and error, this means adjusting the amounts of carbohydrates to prevent any irritation. And even alternating it for an easier digesting source of carbs.

Losing fat

Protein and fats for breakfast! 🍗🍖

💥So when our goal is to lose body fat were wanting to prevent any spike in blood sugar throughout the day, except from the optimal times of pre and post workout.

💥so for breakfast your wanting to go for a higher protein moderate amount of fat to prevent a spike in blood sugar, keeping it nice and stable throughout the day

💥popular choices for this are eggs for breakfast, lean red meat, with nuts or even salmon😋🐟.

💥some of these choices may sound strange🤔, but there's method to the madness! , studies have found that eating red meat and nuts or even a food like salmon for breakfast, helps to make you feel more energized for the day! Setting up our brains neuro transmitters to feel more focused.

All I want for Christmas is a set of abs😜💪🏻🎅🏻🌲

So what would be on the top of your Christmas list, when looking at sculpting a great phyisque, I'm sure that for most people a great set of defined abs springs to mind.

Below I have summarised a few tips on helping you build a great set of abs, my early Christmas present to you😉

My top tips to help you get a great set of defined abs!

💥follow a healthy balanced diet, tailored to fit your goals! , with the right amount of protein,carbs and fats for your needs!

-feel free to message me for more information on how to structure your diet to get the best results, for your fat loss goals💪🏻

💥train them heavy! In an 8-12 rep range to overload the muscle properly, if you want a thick set of abs.

💥allow time for recovery! Your abs won't grow if you train them everyday, hit them heavy and hard 2/3 sessions a week is plenty!

💥use exercises that work with the correct function of the abdominal muscles, meaning flexion of the spine

-my favourites are

-hanging leg/knee raises
-heavy weighted cable crunch
-decline sit-ups or crunches
-bench knee tucks
-decline leg raises

💥allow time to lose fat in a healthy way, 1/2 pounds a week is optimal for this, staying in a healthy calorie deficit!

💥drink plenty of water! 3/4 litres is my recommended amount, this will help to flush more water our from under your, skin making them look tighter

💥make sure that you are taking in a good amount of fibre, to aid with healthy digestion, it is also beneficial to supplement with digestive enzymes to help with digestion of food, as well as a probiotic for a healthy gut.

💥if you have any food that irritate you and cause bloating, keep a food diary, work out wich ones are causing this and alternate it for a food that you can digest much better!
Most common causes for this are

-oats
-bread
-sweet potato

And can vary between the individual!

The importance of promoting a healthy digestive system!🍎🍗

One of the most overlooked subjects nowadays I find is educating people on proper digestive health.
Think about it like this, we've all heard that saying you are what you eat! .
But when it comes to our digestives system it's a case of our bodies absorbing proper nutrients from foods. If your body isn't absorbing these foods you won't get the benefits from it.
More than likely most people seem to suffer with some form of stomach irritation wether this is due to a food intolerance, could usually be the case.
However everyone is different and it's about finding the right foods that you can eat without any problems. That's why it's important to keep a food diary so that you can monitor how certain foods effect you.

I find that's it's also very important to add plenty of variety to your diet, this is not only great from a mental side as it makes it more enjoyable, but also to ensure that your body gets a greater variety of lean protein sources for a full complement of amino acids.

Also ensure that you are eating plenty of fibrous vegetables! Some great choices for these are broccoli, spinnach, kale, green beans etc.

It's also very important to drink plenty of water, this will help to transport nutrients Around your body and keep it well hydrated
I'd recommend 3/4 liters a day for this

Finally it's also beneficial to supplement with an additional digestive enzyme, our body does produce these naturally however, it can always help to process protein, carbohydrates and fats better.

Yes I may be young and I don't claim to be the most knowledgeable personal trainer out there, as I believe especially in this business we are always learning! We are all going to make mistakes but you only get better through experience. However I am so passionate about living this lifestyle as I practice what I preach! live and breathe this life every single day!
