ABOUT US:
Abel Karate, School of Champions, was established in 2010 at Vine Hall in East Molesey, by Head Instructor, Sensei Paul Abel. The school teaches under the Shinrae Karate-do Association, which is affiliated by both the English Karate Federation and the World Karate Federation. Today, the club has expanded across the county, but the school stays close to its founding principle; that Karat
e can be an inclusive discipline and that Abel Karate will welcome and celebrate participation of the sport from all ages and abilities. To ensure that each of his students receives the highest quality of teaching, in an environment exactly suited to their individual needs, Sensei Paul currently offers four key classes: Little Ninjas, (3-4 year olds) Abel Youth (5-18) Adults, and The Be Inspired Project, for children and young adults with disabilities, all of which can lead to competitions. Present day Karate is categorized into four main parts: Mental Conditioning, Physical Conditioning, Self Defense and Sport. As a sport, Karate improves fitness and enhances strength and co-ordination, but the club also particularly excels at cultivating several internal values within its members. As self-respect, motivation, teamwork, discipline and confidence develop, they then naturally carry through into the school or work setting. Sensei Paul knows from his own experience, just how well Karate is suited to manifesting these qualities, right from young. Club members have access to training sessions every week, as well as regular opportunities to attend courses and compete in local, national and international competitions, all of which will aid their journey towards belt promotion.
