The rematch is finally here, against one of our favourite rival CVL teams! 🤩 Last time we beat NottinghamRookies by an incredible three point buzzer be**er from .williams_, but the Rookies have been training hard after some very impressive recent wins. We’re back for 2024! Our first league game is tonight, 7pm at Broomfield College vs Derby Academy. Well it’s the start of 2024 and we are going at it full throttle. Our first game this season is our long awaited friendly rematch versus LBBL division 2 team, Gateway Galaxy. After one of our most incredible games to date we beat Galaxy by just two points back in August, but now they have challenged us to a rematch and this time they are out for revenge… 😈 Will they succeed or will they be humbled by the might of East Leake once again? All will be decided on Monday night 👊 Gateway Basketball Club

Sad news, but due to low numbers we have decided to stop running our sessions on a Thursday night. We plan to run Thursday night sessions over the summer/off-season. More details to follow later in the year. A massive thanks to everyone that attended our sessions over the last year and a half. Team training sessions will continue as normal on a Monday night 👍

🎅 Last session of 2023, tonight at East Leake Leisure Centre from 6-8pm. Come along tonight for an evening of fun, no pressure basketball, banging tunes and, yep, there’ll be free mince pies there tonight too 🤩 not for profit, only £3 for the session, cash or card/phone. Ages 16+, all skill levels welcome. I’m struggling to think why anyone wouldn’t be there tonight! 😆 See you there! 🫡

I don’t usually post as myself, but I sponsored this game, so here is my message to my team mates: “I’m immensely proud of you guys and how hard you have been working, regardless of whether we win or lose, you should all be proud of what you have achieved in such a short period of time. Definitely not the result we were hoping for, but congratulations to Ilkeston Hawks for being the better team on the night and securing a 73-60 victory. Also a massive shout out to East Leake Leisure Centre for sponsoring us this game. It goes without saying that we have huge love for East Leake Leisure Centre, it is our home venue, with great staff that always go out of our way to look after us. They also provide loads of other services besides their great range of facilities, with some excellent classes and clubs to cater for all ages and if you’ve got kids, the parties they run there are brilliant too!
