We are hosting our 8th Charity Sportman’s Dinner on Friday 23rd October 2026, our previous seven events have all been highly successful and well supported.
The two main speakers will be Dick Campbell and Eric Davidson:
Dick Campbell is one of Scottish football’s most recognisable and respected characters, known for his passion, honesty and straight-talking style. His after dinner speeches are packed with stories from a lifetime in the game, full of humour, sharp observations and the kind of no-nonsense honesty that audiences instantly warm to. He doesn’t dress it up, and that’s exactly why it works.
Eric is recognised as one of Scotland’s finest After Dinner Speakers, Comedians and Speech Writers. He was raised in that Cultural Cul De Sac, the Creme de la Skimmed Milk of all Scottish mining villages, Newtongrange, eight miles south of Edinburgh. After a spell at thrashing a drum kit around for a local Punk Rock band, Eric started writing and performing comic Poetry around the Clubs and Bars of Edinburgh and Glasgow. In 2003 Eric started performing on the busy Scottish After Dinner Circuit. He has performed across the length and breadth of Scotland and the UK, picking up several After Dinner Speaking awards along the way and sharing Top Tables with major politicians, sporting greats and many Television personalities.
Our MC for the night will be the popular Peter Martin.
Tickets for the event will cost £65.00 per person and are available to reserve at the bar, we are hopeful that this event will continue to be well attended and that we can provide considerable donations to our two named charities, namely Kilbryde Hospice and EK & District Dementia Carers. Our five previous Charity Dinners have proved greatly beneficial to both worthy causes and hopefully will continue to do so.
Members are asked to identify a lead person for each group/table of members and guests who wish to sit together. The lead person should reserve the amount of tickets required. Tickets must be paid in full by 31st August 2026, you can pay by credit card at the bar or via bank transfer.
Drinks for your group can be pre-ordered by contacting Luke Milne, our Clubhouse Manager via a Bar Pre-Order form. These forms should be returned and paid for by 1st October 2026.
By the same date, 1st October 2026, our Caterers should be notified of any special dietary requirements and food allergies.
