Great day at the Q3 event yesterday, rubbing shoulders with people so much further ahead than me in business.

But this is exactly the point of these things.

There’s no better investment than yourself.

There’s also only so far that you can take things yourself.

Then you need guidance from people more knowledgeable, more skilful and more experienced than yourself.

This goes with your fitness goals too.

You can get results yourself, but it may take longer.

It probably means more trying and failing than if you had someone removing the guesswork

It will take longer to achieve feeling happier in your skin, strong, energised and confident

There’s no right time to begin.

Progress is made from starting and doing, not waiting for things align.

Whether it’s Monday, or any other day of the week, commit to yourself.

Set a standard for yourself and stick to it.

Don’t lower them.

Not when work has been s**t, you’ve fallen out with friend or partner, or the weather is dark/wet.

Stop giving in to your excuses.

A healthy body can’t be bought.

You can’t take shortcuts

You need to work for it.

Earn it.

And ONLY you can do it for you.

Let me talk to you about something that isn’t mentioned enough with fitness

ENJOYMENT

If you don’t find any joy in the exercises you’re doing, then you’ll unlikely stick to them for very long.

🏋️‍♀️ When we find activities that bring us joy, fitness becomes infinitely easier to keep up.

Whether it's dancing, hiking, cycling, team sports or trying new workouts, let's make it enjoyable.

And don’t think that you can’t change your choice at any time.

Personally, I’m losing a little bit of love for the pure weightlifting approach recently

And I want to improve my conditioning, which lifting weights doesn’t really achieve.

Remember, it's not just about the end goal; it's about those small wins, those moments of feeling alive and accomplished. Let's celebrate every step, every milestone, and every bit of progress we make 🏃🏻‍♂️

Fitness is about feeling good inside and out. 🌈

I’m not going to stop lifting weights, but I am going to include other stuff and try new things to keep the enjoyment high

I also definitely want to get out and do more hills this summer too, so anyone keen then let me know 🤟🏻

WHY DO YOU TRAIN?

Training is so much more than just getting bigger muscles or losing weight.

Yes those are often the goals and reasons initially.

But when we start to see progress being made, we realise how training has also positively impacted our confidence, self-image, self-esteem, relationships, s*x drive, mental health, happiness and so many other aspects of life.

At least that’s what I’ve found.

Lifting weights, running till you’re breathing out your arse, sweating loads, getting uncomfortable is what builds character.

Builds resilience.

Builds discipline.

Pushing yourself through difficult situations will buildyour resilience to similar situations in the future.

Find comfort in uncomfortable situations and very soon the uncomfortable becomes comfortable.

I train for structure, for my mental health, for routine, for my future self, as well as to feel good and comfortable in my own skin in the current, with confidence in my body being able to do what I ask of it

So, why do you train? If you don’t train, why not?

SLIP UPS

They happen.

No matter what you set out to do, lose weight, build muscle, learn a language..

There will be slips ups, mistakes and setbacks.

They are inevitable.

So instead of beating yourself up about it, wasting time or throwing the towel in altogether.

Pull yourself back up, get your s**t together and get back to chipping toward your aims.

There is so much time and energy wasted on complaining and crying and making excuses and not enough towards identifying, addressing and making changes to your negative self.
