And thats a wrap folks! Final session of the 25/26 season. 2 weeks off and then starting pre season for the boys first 11s season! Its also our last official session as the Blues & EKYC 2014 Yellows together as one entity. Best of luck to the Yellows on their journey into competitive football. Hopefully both teams will be bringing silverware back to Kirktonholme this time next year!

So after an excellent year for the Blues, no league fixture this weekend and likely a late night for the boys cheering on Scotland on Friday night, we have decided to wrap it up early for this season. Training next week then 2 weeks off completely to give everyone a well earned rest.

The boys have done brilliant at 9s and the early signs are they have the makings of a really strong 11 a side team.

Big thanks to the parents for their continued support. Im sure they are just excited as the players and coaches for starting 11s proper in August.

Also a shout out to our sponsors Carty Solicitors who have helped us a lot to kit out the players and coaches.

With us switching lets, this will allow training to continue uninterrupted all summer once we come back from our 2 week holiday for the 1st time ever. The aim is to get the boys well prepared for a long season and challenging for silverware.

We are still on the look out for 2 players to join the team before August so if you are reading this and know of any boys interested, please message the page.

To the players, parents and everyone who has been following us and supporting us, have a great summer!

The Blues level up again with a superb 10-man performance!

A quick trip up the road to face Mearns FA, always a tight fixture, but the boys really turned on the style this morning despite playing with a man down for 60 minutes.

YC started brightly after a scrappy opening spell, with Alfie finishing brilliantly into the bottom corner after a lovely ball from Lucas H. Soon after, Freddie’s ankle injury left us with no subs and 10 men — but the boys had other ideas.

Lucas H reacted quickest to make it 2-0, then forced home another after great pressure. Mearns pulled one back from the spot, but Joe responded with a brilliant chipped finish after a superb Luca pass. 4-1 at half-time.

Second half, the boys were outstanding. Max was everywhere, driving the team forward and working tirelessly. Joe grabbed his second after great work from Max, before Max produced the pass of the game to send Alfie through, who slotted home calmly.

Shay, Blake and Stokesy bossed it at the back, Lewis made important saves, and Luca and Archie M linked the play brilliantly in midfield.

Arguably the best 11s performance we’ve seen from the Blues so far — and with 10 men!

Exciting times ahead.

Another great performance from the Blues in their second League 11s game.
Lucas Harvey put on a clinical display, helping himself to four goals — two in each half. His standout moment came when he spotted the goalkeeper off his line and showed great awareness to take advantage.
New signing Alfie continued his impressive start to life at YC, scoring two excellent goals, one either side of half-time, and proving a constant threat throughout the game.
After his goal-and-assist contribution on Saturday, Max got himself on the scoresheet again with a sweetly struck effort.
Pick of the goals, though, belonged to Stokesy. Collecting the ball near the left-hand edge of the box, he met the bouncing ball perfectly and sent it flying high into the net off the post — an outstanding finish.
Alongside the goals, there was plenty of excellent attacking play. Luca and Joe both chipped in with assists, while Freddie and Archie M worked tirelessly in both attack and defence. Archie H found some great pockets of space in midfield and was a real influence on the game.
At the back, Shay and Blake looked composed and assured in central defence, while Lewis produced a couple of excellent saves, including a brilliant stop from a free-kick.
A big well done to all the boys, and thanks again to Carolside for the game. A team currently in the midst of a rebuild, they kept battling throughout and deserve credit for continuing to have a go. We wish them all the best over the summer.
Next up for the Blues is the Giffnock Festival on Sunday. It should be a fantastic day, with some top-quality opposition that will give us a real indication of where the boys are at.

Brilliant performance from the YC boys today, coming back from 2-0 down to get the win.
The boys started really well in the first half and created a lot of chances. The Argyle keeper made some stunning saves, but it was the long ball over the top that our defenders initially struggled with. The Argyle striker was really taking advantage of it, grabbing one with a nice finish before their left winger got in on the act to give them a 2-0 lead.
The boys didn't let their heads drop and, just before half-time, Archie H whipped in a great corner right into the danger area. New signing Alfie just missed the header, but Freddie was there to steer it high and beyond the keeper to make it 2-1 at the break.
In the second half, the YC boys stuck to playing it out from the back. Some lovely passages of play started to come together, with Blake in particular providing the answer to the long balls with his strength and composure.
The equaliser came from some great work by Joe on the right, who got in the cross for Max to eventually steer home.
The boys weren't done yet and the third goal was all about Luca. A superb run from midfield saw him beat three or four players, charge into the box and put it on a plate for Joe arriving at the back post.
Alfie then capped off an amazing debut with a thoroughly deserved fourth goal.
A great result for the boys. The opposition presented problems that they solved well, and collectively they played some really nice football, especially in the second half. There were lots of one-twos, movement and individual runs that were great to watch.
Well done boys. Mon the YC!!

Thanks to Glasgow Argyle for hosting us and best of luck with the remaining games.
