Miss Kay announces her retirement.

From September, Redhurst School of Dancing’s Principal, Miss Kay Ball will be taking her own special bow as she announces that she shall be stepping back from Redhurst and embarking on a new adventure called retirement.

Miss Kay Ball has been the Principal of Redhurst Schools of Dancing for over 40 years, teaching students from 3 years to adult in Ballet, Tap, Classical Greek, Modern Dance and more. She has guided them through RAD and ISTD exams, festival work and performances ensuring that Redhurst’s ethos and high standards were always maintained.

Redhurst will be continuing in its current form with teachers Miss Alice and Miss Donna continuing to teach as normal and will be overseen by two very experienced and competent new owners Miss Kristina Hewitt and Miss Chantelle Kite as joint Principals.

Kay says ‘I truly believe that this is the right way forward for Redhurst. I am ready to hand over the baton I have been carrying for over 40 years to these delightful, enthusiastic and motivated young women who will carry Redhurst to new heights.’

‘Take a Bow’ on July 25th at The Hawth Theatre in Crawley will be Miss Kay’s last show, and the students and teachers are determined to create something very special that will live in memories forever.

We are incredibly proud of two of our young dancers. They auditioned and got to dance in the English Youth Ballet production of Swan Lake at the Hawth Theatre. It was such an enriching experience for them and a huge milestone on their dance journey! Congratulations ❤❤❤

A Tap and Modern Combined Class on a Wednesday (5&6yrs)
Grade 1 Modern (7&8yrs)

All our classes are until 18years old - it is never too late to start!

So proud of our wonderful dancers who helped celebrate the 10th anniversary of their new building today.

Miss Alice ran a taster session and then our junior and our senior jazz classes gave a short performance. A great time was had by all.

Thanks Trinity for having us. Here’s to the next ten years of using your wonderful space.

The Redhurst Adult Tap Classes are designed with fun in mind!

They run on a Friday evening at the Moat Road, Scout Hut during term time. Our terms are ten weeks long (during normal West Sussex school term dates) and for the term it is £70.

Or you may prefer a PAYG option for £10 a session.

The tutor is Miss Alice who has a wealth of experience teaching and performing and makes the classes fun and sociable.

Beginner's and basics (7.00-7.45pm) - this is suitable from anyone who has never tapped before and want learn some new skills. The basics are learnt and short routines are put together.

Improvers and Advanced (7.45-8.30pm) - this class is for those who know what they are doing and is most aimed at honing skills and fitness. The class is made of a few Redhurst students who were with us as children and others who are completely new to Redhurst.

If you are not sure which group to join you can be flexible between the two.

We start term on Friday May 2nd! And anyone is welcome.

The emphasis is definitely - fun.
