💙 Volunteers play a huge part in making the EG 10K a success; in fact, without them, there would be no EG 10K. A big thank you to all those who will be helping this year. 💙

💥 It takes around 50 volunteers to hold the EG10K
💥 the majority of the volunteers are members of EGR Club along with many other including the beneficiaries
💥 There will be marshals around the route to encourage all participants.
💥 There will be volunteers handing out water so you can hydrate midway.
💥 Each year, a committee plans and organizes months and months before the event.

It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Mapande, who was one of our beneficiaries of the East Grinstead 10K charity fundraising in 2025.

After losing her right leg to sarcoma, Mapande faced every challenge with incredible courage, determination and positivity. She inspired so many people with her resilience, warmth and infectious smile, and our running community was proud to come together to help raise funds towards a new prosthetic leg.

We were deeply saddened to learn that Mapande passed away following her courageous battle with cancer. She touched the lives of so many people, and it was a privilege for the East Grinstead 10K to play a small part in supporting her journey.

On behalf of everyone involved with the East Grinstead 10K, we send our heartfelt condolences to Mapande's family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.

Thank you to everyone who supported our fundraising for Mapande. Your generosity meant so much to her and her family.

Mapande. You will be remembered for your remarkable strength, your kindness and your beautiful smile. 💙
