Swapped MSD ignition box from the other engine. And it runs. Does anyone have a blue MSD 6560 6M so that we can run the last UKOPRA race on September 19th. We can then upgrade ours in winter. 😁🏁

Cowes Poole Cowes. First race with new owners. New crew. New set up. And only second time we have run the boat in the water since a 2 and a half year refit.
The race prep week was manic. We had built the boat. Now we needed to get it ready with all the safety equipment for racing. A few last minute fixes. And we went to Cowes.
Race start was good but instantly felt something was off. Further down to sconce turn the port engine was now down to 3000rpm. And we could hear the engine popping in the coms. After the turn with the tide I decided I wanted to have a look and check nothing serious was happening in the engine bay. Every thing was perfect. Oily engine parts were still inside the engine. ! Quick look around it must be ignition related. Tried to restart. No spark. So we called to retire and returned back to Cowes. Meeting James Winkworth and Harry on the way back who passed us a beer 🍺 😎

Finally made it out under its own power. 2 years of blood sweat and tears. A good solid 4 hours running in time on the drives and engines. Many sleepless nights wondering if it would work with moving engines and drive heights. Going from gearbox and TRS drives to transom mounted Bravo 1 ! It went well. Very well and acceleration is strong ! Handled great. Typical Solent testing. We had flat calm then on the way home had a good 1m swell
More testing to come after fixing a few bits down and a few adjustments to make.

So close. But a few issues to resolve after the first time in the water in this set up. No running time in today’s winds. So we would have had to run down at 6am tomorrow . First run of the boat. To then take part in a race with no testing time. Ideally we want a few days in the water. Do a complete systems check make any adjustments.
So we made the very difficult decisions to not run this weekend. I can’t thank everyone enough for the massive achievement this week in getting the boat afloat. 🥰
