We have a fuel tank. All systems go. 4 weeks till Poole UKOPRA round 2.

Some bad news. And good news. Unfortunately with just over a week till we planned to be at our first race for UKOPRA at the round the island race we don’t have a few vital parts of the boat. After finding the bad fuel tank late on in the rebuild that’s still being made. So we have decided that with no running in time. The Velocity will miss the first race. But. The team will be there. And racing. A massive thank you to Peter Hall who has very Kindly offered us to Take the legendary Dry Martini 🍸! 🏁

It may only be in on blocks. But it’s in to see where everything needs to be. Beds templated and Inspiration Fabrication on the case to get bed plates over so we can get the engines in and lined up. A few changes to be made as this configuration means the engines are now 12 inches further back. And 5 inches lower in the boat. Each old gearbox was 50kg each. Newer bravo is lighter than the TRS. And the lid saves 25kg.

About the only part of the boat not be renewed or touched is/ was the fuel tank. Thought it would be a good idea to pull it out and check. Inspiration Fabrication to the rescue. New tank on the way. 😫🤣🏁

Making some progress getting inside back together.
MJG GRITS Isle of Wight sandblasting powder coated gauge bezels. AB composites with the new Raymarine axiom 9 screen GRP pods for them to sit into flush but lifted up for better visibility. Axioms supplied by Cowes Marine Electrical.
