With a heavy heart, it’s time to say goodbye to East Calder C**ts 09s.

For the last five years, Dave and I have had the privilege of coaching this team. We couldn’t have done it without the support of some brilliant people along the way, so a huge thank you to Davie, Steven, Mandy, Aaron, Christian, James and Jason for everything you’ve done for the lads and the club.

What a journey it’s been. Cup wins, unforgettable trips to Holland, incredible matches, plenty of laughs, and memories that will stay with us forever.

More than anything, it’s been about the lads. Watching them grow—not just as footballers, but as young men—has been an absolute privilege.

While today is a sad day, it’s also the start of a new chapter. Most of the squad are moving up the pathway to our partner 20s team, and we know they’ll do themselves proud.

To every player, past and present, thank you for pulling on the EC C**ts shirt and being part of this journey. You’ve all helped create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.

Not our day for the C**ts today as we went down to Whitburn.

With injuries and availability issues hitting hard, we had to pull two players out of retirement and still started with only 9 fit players. Credit to the 12 who turned up and gave everything, but unfortunately it was always going to be a tough ask.

Ultimately we gifted too many goals to give ourselves a real chance, but the boys kept battling right until the final whistle.

We dust ourselves down and move onto next week. With players returning, there’s still plenty to play for and every chance we can finish above today’s opponents by the end of the season. 💪⚽

Two tournaments in Holland with the C**ts — and what trips they were. 🇳🇱⚽️

Two fantastic groups of lads, great football, great laughs, and memories that will stick forever. Some of the boys were lucky enough to experience it twice — and they’ll know just how special those trips were 🙌🏻

Today’s game seen the C**ts v Stirling Albion Red… everyone forgot photos so all we got was the aftermath of a battle on the grass , the C**ts gave everything and were so close to an equaliser in the last minute with a huge goalmouth scramble but it wasn’t to be.
