71st anniversary, a special date in Taekwon-Do history 🥋

Today, April 11, 2026, we celebrate the 71st anniversary of the naming of Taekwon-Do.

On 11 April 1955, the name Taekwon-Do was officially presented, marking the beginning of a journey that would grow into a global martial art practiced by millions. For 71 years, Taekwon-Do has represented discipline, respect, perseverance, and continuous self-development.

Our global community continues to honor this legacy through shared milestones. And just three weeks ago, we also celebrated the 60th anniversary of the International Taekwon-Do Federation, marking six decades of dedication to developing and preserving Taekwon-Do worldwide.

As we mark 71 years since the naming of our art, we celebrate our history and look forward to the future together.

Today, March 22, 2026, we proudly celebrate the 60th anniversary of the International Taekwon-Do Federation.

From its founding in 1966 to a global family spanning over 100 countries, the ITF continues to carry forward the vision of General Choi Hong Hi and the true spirit of Taekwon-Do.

Behind this milestone lies a powerful story—one that goes beyond technique, into perseverance, conviction, and the dream of a young and sickly calligraphy student who helped shape our art.

On this special occasion, we invite all members of our ITF family to reflect on our shared history and rediscover the origins of what unites us.

Well done to all the kids tonight who were promoted following the grading a couple of weeks ago.

Excellent effort by all, the younger kids following the ITF Kids program, rewarded with their yellow stripe, and the juniors earning their 9th Kup.

Thank you to Master Cook and assistant instructor Mr Wallace for their continued support and a big thank you to all of the parents and guardians who support the kids and the club, its an honour to be in a position to have a positive influence on the youngsters.

Martial Arts boosts confidence and empowers individuals to acheive their goals, building strong foundations for the future 🥋🥋🥋
