NCDT kids coaching this evening. Placing all the learning into practice and playing a hole - with guidance - then making their own club selections to. Complete the task!

Thanks to all who supported over the last 6 weeks , it is very much appreciated.
Kids are away with golf knowledge , etiquette and ‘motor skills’ , golf balls and course completion medals 🥇. Wishing them all the best and hopefully see you on the course soon.

Focus was on ‘iron’ play tonight with the NCDT kids. Their understanding and awareness of ball position was taken on so quickly and this was reflected in their shot striking which improved as the session progressed even with them striking just off turf. The players had several targets of varying distance/ direction to consider. They performed with great team spirit and as part of the session , their course etiquette in replacing their divots was applied.
Well done kids , parents / guardians have been provided with a golf quiz for the kids to complete - to enhance their knowledge of golf history , course etiquette and safety, current golf matters, golf fun and topics we’ve worked on in last few weeks.
Great effort kids and thanks once again to Graham of NCDT for his assistance over the period.

Unbelievable coaching session with the NCDT kids last night!
For a couple of weeks the kids have wanted me to focus on ‘the DRIVER’ !! I love their passion for the game , there is something different every week that they surprise me with in regards of how they ‘see the game’ and how they learn - these inquisitive , driven minds are brilliant and although the majority have never held a golf club before the program, they have NO fear !!!!! And that is how we should be learning and playing golf.
I’ve stressed this so many times and it doesn’t just apply to juniors , but all , how guiding players in their optimum learning state is paramount to allow players to perform - not just so that the kids can beat their elders 😉, but for all!
I was taken aback how the golf kids listened , performed and enjoyed the task! How , when working in pairs they helped each other - which is brilliant to see 👏👏👏! Their fluid stages of learning have been amazing !!
Big thanks to Graham from NCDT who has been fantastic over the weeks ( and assisted collecting the golf balls) 👍.
Well done kids - a golf quiz to take away with you next week - no cheating please parents 😀

Today , very kindly I was given 3 sets of older irons ! These could be used / kept by the club along with other clubs I’ve accumulated over the years for anyone / inc. visitors if required.
I’ll liaise with the club this week to see re storage etc

Short game - chipping basics with the NCDT kids at New Cumnock Community Golf Club !
Task related activities including intro. of gaining and learning connection between eyes and body movement with under arm throwing of a ball to varied length targets.
From there establishing specific landing areas when players want the ball to run out like a long putt again at smaller varied targets.
As the session progressed , how the ‘focus was silenced’ and natural competitiveness increased! A great bunch of kids whose feedback in their learning each week is fantastic 👍 ( images with NCDT ).

Introduction to ‘sand shots’ tonight with the NCDT kids! Basic checkpoints and with guidance to allow the players to discover aspects of this and how sand is not a hindrance ! What a fantastic group and this continues in their feedback session we always have during and post session! So responsive and working as a team !!
Amazing during the session how, from being absolute novices at the start, a switch was ‘flicked’ and the standard of technique brought their developed learning through stages !!
Well done all 👏👏🏌🏽‍♂️

Putting tasks with the NCDT kids ! Some hadn’t played EVER before!Brilliant feedback in our introductions then during and after the session! Judging pace , line and unconsciously making a competitive side to their work, allowing the kids to explore how ‘they’ figure challenges out with guided assistance.
Challenges were difficult and they all performed great! Fab group we’ve got here 👏
