🍂Hello Autumn🍂
This shift in season is a perfect time to turn inwards and reflect; think restorative practices like meditation, restorative yoga, yoga nidra, and journalling ✨️ So as we transition into Autumn, ask yourself what it is you really need from this season. Take a deep breath, step outside, and let the Autumn energy ground you ✨️
Resting and turning inward is not withdrawing from life, it's listening more deeply, gathering yourself, and returning home to your self, to your steady, balanced centre.
So just like the tree, may you trust the rhythm of change.
May you release what is ready to fall.
May you rest in your roots.
And may you carry your own quiet inner light with you into the season ahead✨️ 🤎

✨️Santosha✨️
This month in our membership community we’re focusing on Santosha (contentment) one of the five Niyamas in the 8 limb path outlined in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali. Yoga Sutra 2.42 teaches, “From contentment, supreme happiness is gained.” Santosha invites us to meet ourselves and our lives exactly as they are, rather than waiting for everything to be perfect before we allow ourselves to feel at peace.

It’s not about simply settling, giving up, or pretending everything is easy, but rather finding gratitude and joy in the present moment, however small it may be. It's about growing from a place of clarity rather than craving...because when we continually strive for what's next, or are too busy rushing toward the next thing we think we need to make us happy, we miss the joy that's happening for us right now ✨️

On the mat this practice isn’t about comparison or achieving the perfect shape; it's about softening effort, listening to our bodies, and moving with kindness and acceptance, and finding contentment in what is here for us right now, however that looks 🤎 Off the mat it might look like a moment in nature, watching a sunrise or a sunset, being with loved ones, or maybe sitting in the garden under the sun with a book!
I'd love to know to know, what little joy brings you contentment?

Happy Summer Solstice and International Yoga Day✨️🧘🏼‍♀️

The sun is shining here today on the Solstice, marking the longest day of the year when the sun reaches its highest point, and we are gifted the most hours of daylight ☀️ We can mark this day by honouring the light; outside us, and the one we nurture within! It’s a beautiful reminder to pause, soften and slow down, and to reconnect with the parts of us that crave warmth, space, and stillness.
Yoga has been such a supportive part of my own personal journey...helping me return
to myself again and again when I felt disconnected, and now as I continue to move through different seasons of life with more compassion.
Your yoga practice isn’t about how strong you can be or the shapes you make - it’s about coming home to yourself; to your breath, your body, and your truth. So today, take a moment to pause, to realign, and to celebrate all you have achieved this year so far! Get outside in the sunlight if you can and connect to nature, and if you feel called to, take a moment for yourself🧘🏼‍♀️

As a gift from me to you, I’d love to share my summer solstice Yoga Nidra with you - a gentle space to pause, breathe, reconnect, and welcome in abundance, clarity and calm for this season. Comment SOLSTICE below and I’ll send you the link 📧🔗

Thank you for being here in this little community, and for allowing me to share these practices with you. May you move through this season with softness, clarity, and a heart that is open to abundance and the light around you and within you ☀️✨️💛

Because it starts with awareness, not your ability to perfect a pose! Let me explain....

"Atha Yogānuśāsanam"

The very first word from the Yoga Sutras is "atha" or 'now' "Now the instruction of yoga begins" Not when we are able to perfect a pose, not when life slows down and when we have more time. It begins now, in this moment, in the messiness of normal life. Yoga begins in the present when we decide to show up just as we are; perfectly imperfect, and meet ourselves where we are in this very moment. It begins when we decide to pause, when we start to notice our breath, and when we keep coming back to our mat again and again without preconceived ideas or expectations. This is yoga - the ultimate practice of presence✨️

We are exloring this theme of atha and presence in the membership community this month and integrating it into our practice. So if you like the sound of a more intentional holistic yoga practice where we don't just practice on the mat, but we integrate the teachings into our modern daily lives, then come join us for a free 3 day trial and see if its for you! The link is in my bio ⬆️✨️ You are so welcome here, exactly as you are 🤎
