Attention ALL Members.

We appear to still have Members who have either not read Club Rules/Policies or worst still have read them and choosen to ignore.

Photo below of a barbed hook tied to a braid hook length, neither of which are permitted on Club stillwaters. (Lighter for scale)

As has been previously stated any Member caught breaking club rules as in this case risks being asked to leave the water immediately and having their Membership revoked.

This year already one Member has had Membership revoked and another individual has been denied Membership due to an issue during the previous Club year.

Please ensure you have read and understand the Clubs Rules and Policies before fishing on our Waters.

Attention ALL Members.

Update regarding some of the non tidal river stretches lost by the Club for various reasons over the last few years.

Firstly, the stretch upstream of Ellingham Mill on the Norfolk bank.
This is now available to Club Members to fish again. However this stretch has not been fished or accessed for a number of years and as a consequence care will be required to both access and fish this stretch.
The Committee are currently unable to do anything to improve access or clear bank side vegetation due to current workload on other waters, however if any Members want to volunteer please contact the Club Secretary.
More details will be posted separately.

Secondly, significant progress has finally been made with regard to securing the right to fish again on the Coalyard and Old Buck stretches which were lost a few years ago. In addition we will hopefully have a much better car parking arrangement for the Coalyard stretch avoiding the difficult walk, narrow plank bridge and barbed wire fence. We are hopeful this matter will be concluded in the very near future. However it’s likely some undergrowth and branch clearance will be required to clear fishing spots.
More information will follow when available.

All stretches will be Members only.

More details will follow.

2nd Junior Match, Saturday 22nd August 2026.

Ellingham Hall Lake.

The second Junior match of the year was held at Ellingham Hall Lake on Saturday 22nd August. Unfortunately several late withdrawals meant just six Junior Anglers were at the draw. The goods news was that conditions looked good, a light wind pushing into the pegs, initially overcast and not too hot.
The fish did not disappoint with several fish being caught as soon as the all in and continuing to be caught throughout the match.

At the weigh in the word on the bank was that there were several good weights and there were suggestions that Camden probably had 30lb!!

Camden was indeed first, on peg 6, but actually weighed in 44lb 11oz, an excellent result. He fished a steady match catching from the start on the method feeder. Both carp and good bream made up his weight.

Next to him, on peg 5, was Jack. A slower start for Jack but a hot tip from Chairman Glenn saw his catch rate increase. Also on method feeder Jack ended up weighing 27lb 7oz, another great result.

Third place was separated by just 9oz, in the end Ria just edged it with 23lb 8oz. Unlike Camden and Jack, Ria fished pole, from peg 3, starting by catching roach but then some carp turned up! Three were caught, the biggest was close to double figures. Well done Ria.

Charlie and Ronnie weren’t far behind and Ziggy who fished for silvers caught more in number than all the others put together.

A great match with 5 nets in excess of 20lb. It was refreshing to see how well the anglers performed and were supported by friends and family.

1st, Camden 44lb 11oz, peg 6.
2nd, Jack 27lb 7oz, peg 5.
3rd, Ria 23lb 8oz, Peg 3.

A big thank you to Junior Secretary Billy for all his hard work getting these matches organised and to the Club Committee members who turned up to provide support if required.

Thanks also to Parents, family and friends for getting the Junior Anglers to and from the Venue and staying to provide support. And thanks for the great feedback.

Special thanks to Crossways of Ellingham and Avenue Angling for their support and continued generosity. The Club is very appreciative.

And lastly, thanks and well done to Camden, Jack, Ria, Charlie, Ronnie and Ziggy, great to see you on the bank.
