Sometimes going backwards, isn’t really going backwards, it’s going forwards…..

We haven’t been happy with how Koko 🖤 has been feeling/going for a few weeks now. He has been feeling blocked and that has meant him going slower and lacking energy. My first thought was more food which proved to be disastrous 😅🙈 but then after watching and watching videos with Leanne, we came to the conclusion that he wasn’t using his back how we would like. This week has been all about short and sweet sessions to get him deeper, rounder and more supple and in turn allowing me in to ride and not blocking me out. Much better!

I didn’t have a lesson with John yesterday with him as we’re figuring it out a bit on our own for now but I did admit that I’d f****d it all up 🫣. When I thought about it though, that’s positive in itself…that you have to look at yourself too, not just the horse, and see what you’ve done wrong, then fix it.

Big G 🍑. It has been a while since we have had a Gauds 🍑 post. Gaudi was diagnosed with PSD last October, and after a long and meticulous rehab process, it had become apparent that Ginge and I wouldn’t make it back out at the higher levels. As very sad as that is (a lot of tears have been cried), I am so grateful and proud of where we got to but he is a big horse and it was a big ask to get there the first time, let alone a second with a bit of a problem now. I’m not prepared to do surgery as I don’t agree with it so Leanne came to me and asked if she could try to get him strong enough for lower level stuff. So the plan is to get Gauds stronger and then try again. He is doing lots of hacking up the hills, walk work and going on the water treadmill every week. 🤞🏻💪🏻🍑. Come on, Ginge!

My girls were amazing in training with JB today. First up was Tiva 🚀, who was so wonderful I could cry. I don’t think I could be more proud of my little rocket who has tested me the whole way along but is really coming into her own 💪🏻. Leanne has always had so much belief in madam which I have been grateful for in the times of doubt! Next up was my lovely little Love 😍 who was lovely of course. Putting in some more balance and swing now she is nice and forwards ☺️. Then Aspen 💗 and Smudge 🌟 were up - as we all know flat work is not little legs favourite thing to do but she still works hard at it!

Two of my girls this morning 😍🚀. Love 😍 is feeling so good - using that back and tummy and getting more lift. She is such a happy, trainable little lady and I’m enjoying getting to know her again ☺️. Tiva 🚀 is just incredible at the moment and finding the harder stuff easy so a great place to be. Koko 🖤 and HRH 👑 were happy hackers, Fleur 🌸 did a little bit in the school and Harry 🤩 had a day off. Happy Friday!

Today felt like the most positive day Leanne and I have had in a while. Feeling more purposeful and motivated which was a good place to be 🥰.

Helped by the fact that I had a great first ride home on Fleur 🌸. Thank you to .russell247 for just being her to be honest 🥰.
