The threat is growing every day.
We want to train women to protect themselves and their children.
Also to train men to protect themselves and their women and children. If you wonder why there are no videos of training it is to deny predators the ability to work around your skills.
I don’t want to scare anyone, just keep them safe.

I haven’t posted here for a while mainly because there is very little to report.
I thought I might just let anyone that is likely to be interested what has been happening.
The womens self defence class died as it has done in the past a pretty quick death.
I don’t know for sure but from what I can gather it’s a bit too much to take on board and requires repetition and commitment to remain effective. That’s for those that at least gave it a go albeit for a couple of lessons.
As for those that haven’t given it a “go” it seems that there is an imaginary fitness level required.
Other reasons are “I don’t need it as my boyfriend is a six footer and plays rugby”
“I have a big dog”
“Nothing happens around here”
All good reasons if only a selected few, to not consider personal safety.

There’s the negative.

Now the positive….

We started a womens street boxing class which I must say stunned me at first with 20 applicants.
This has slowly declined in numbers probably for just the same (plus others) reasons as above.
Surely another negative??
Far from it!
There are a few that have been very regular and have progressed faster than expected (I think Mel and Zoe take 1st place).
Maybe they actually enjoy it?
Not the only positive here…
I have two very good female womens self defence/womens street boxing instructors that have been with me for many years.
Catherine trains and teaches at The Shed in Earls Barton and is our most senior female instructor at ITG.
Esena trains with me every other week as she lives and teaches in Surrey where she trains every day with her partner Pat who has also been at ITG for years.

So a couple of things that stand out here is determination and commitment.

So ladies it’s never to late to pop in and see what happens.
You can even bring your big dog/boyfriend 😂
