Dear Members,
There is an exciting opportunity for members to get up close to elite players preparing for the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this July.
Desborough Bowls Club will be hosting a 4-team tournament between England, Scotland, Wales, and Guernsey on Sat 13th & Sun 14th June.
Featuring Men’s, Women’s, Visually Impaired, and Physically Disabled players competing in both Singles and Pairs.
We expect to see some of the world’s best players including Sam Tolchard, Paul Foster, Alex Marshall, Jason Greenslade and Katherine Rednall.
To help deliver the event, they are looking for volunteers to support the matches across the weekend.
It’s a fantastic way to be involved, support the players, and experience top-level bowls from the best seat in the house.
Volunteer Roles Include:
• Shot Clock Operators – manage the 30-second shot clock used during matches (like the Potters World Championships)
• Push-Back Assistants – help return bowls during Physically Disabled matches
• Scoreboard Operators – update the match scoreboards
