Dear Members,

It is with ambivalence that we inform you that we have decided to permanently close Courtyard Health and Fitness from Sunday 28th July 2024.

Karl wishes to semi retire and I wish to focus my energy on my deteriorating health. As you can imagine, after 27 years in business, this has been a very difficult decision for us to make and it has taken some complex management.

YOU MUST CANCEL your standing order. The business will cease trading from the 28th July 2024.

We realise some of you will be disappointed by our decision. The new owners are considering reopening as a gym and we hope this will be the case.

We wish to thank you for supporting our small business and sharing our friendship.

In December we asked our customers to adjust their standing orders to come out on the 28th of every month which most have now done. For this I thank you.
However some cash payers seem to think that because we don’t remind you about payment every single month, it’s absolutely fine to just carry on training regardless until we remind them how far behind they are on their payments and then complain when asked for back payment.
May I remind you that you have signed a contract and it is your responsibility to pay on the due date. Where we can, we will try to remind you, but sometimes it is not always possible.
We are a small business and not a charity, so please do your best to pay us when the time is due.
