It’s a dry and windy day in Durness so a good opportunity to get the pathways and some fairway areas aerated using a 18mm Solid Tine down to 4 inches below the surface 💨

This will help relieve compaction on these areas after a wet winter and ahead of another busy season ahead ⛳️

Tees were aerated yesterday with a smaller 12mm solid tine.

Tees and Pathways will be aerated over the next few days then all the bunkers will be topped up with sand and back in play.

Quick Update on some jobs happening on the course this week ⛳️

*Sheep continue to graze the course

*Greens have been Aerated and double rolled

*Fairways and Pathways have been harrowed

*Mole traps have been set to control the increase in moles

*James Keith has kindly volunteered his time and machinery to clean out the pond on the 6th hole

Greens are recovering well from the maintenance work last week and hopefully the seed will start germinating next week 🌱

Course Update:

The sheep left the course yesterday after the lambing period 🐑.

Electric fences are now down, fairway bunkers are back in play and the worst of the animal droppings have been cleaned up. Preferred lies will stay in operation for the moment.

Maiden Voyage out on the Greens for our Roller this morning.

The club recently purchased a second hand Tru-Turf Greens Roller which will be a huge asset going forward. This machine will help create faster and smoother putting surfaces and also aid recovery after maintenance work.
