Durham City Hockey Club We currently run a total of 5 men's teams, 3 women's teams as well as some successful veterans sides, a mixed team and a thriving junior section.

9 Senior teams competing at varying levels from YNE Premier League to friendly Development games.

🏑 Training every Tuesday:
Women: 6:30 - 8:00pm
Men: 8:00 - 9:30pm

🏑 Games on Saturdays

Everyone is welcome to join!💛 We welcome players of all ages and abilities, from young first-timers to experienced veterans! Our junior coaching runs on a Sunday morning in collaboration

with Durham University and we always invite new members to come and give hockey a try! The senior sides train midweek with games on Saturdays and occasionally Sundays. We have teams to cater for a range of ability and experience so we'll always be able to find you a game. We have a number of Durham University students in our teams and always welcome those looking for another challenge in addition to college sport. Simply like our page and get in touch for updates on fixtures, training times and social arrangements.

🏑 PRE-SEASON STARTS TOMORROW! 💛

We’re so excited to get back on the pitch and kick off another season at Durham City Hockey Club!

Whether you’ve played for Durham City for years, haven’t picked up a stick in a while, have just moved to the area, or have never played for the club before, you’re more than welcome to come down and join us.

Pre-season is the perfect way to get back into hockey, meet some new people and hopefully find a new club to love.

There’s absolutely no pressure or commitment. Just come down, get involved and see what Durham City is all about!

An exciting opportunity has become available to lead the coaching and development of both our Men’s and Women’s performance programmes at England Hockey Club of the Year 2025. 🏆

This is a paid role and a fantastic opportunity to make a real impact at one of the North East’s most ambitious hockey clubs.

With 4 Men’s and 4 Women’s senior teams, a thriving junior section, performance hockey at every level and training at Maiden Castle, you’ll have the opportunity to help shape the future of our club both on and off the pitch.

Join us this Tuesday 4th August for our final fun hockey session before the hard work begins! Expect plenty of games, laughs and a great chance to get your hockey fix before pre-season kicks off on 11th August.

Looking for a hockey club this season? We’d love to meet you.

Whether you’re an experienced player looking for a new challenge or you’re thinking about getting back into hockey after some time away, there’s a place for you at Durham City Hockey Club.

As England Hockey Club of the Year 2025, we’re proud to offer hockey for all abilities, with 9 senior teams, a thriving junior section and a friendly, inclusive club where everyone is welcome.

Join us for our Club Play Day and AGM as we wrap up the season and start looking ahead to 2026/27.

We’d love to see as many members as possible there for some hockey, followed by the club’s Annual General Meeting.

• Time: 11.30 – 13.00

🍽️ Food will be provided at the AGM, so please stay on afterwards and join us for both the meeting and some post-hockey refreshments.

The AGM is an important part of the club calendar and a chance for all members to have their say on the future direction of Durham City Hockey Club. We hope to see as many of you there as possible.

Durham City Hockey Club - NOTICE OF ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING (AGM)

The Annual General Meeting for club year 2025/26 will be held:
• Date: Sunday 19th July 2026
• Time: 1.30 PM
• Venue: Durham School, Quarryheads Ln, Durham, DH1 4SZ

The AGM is an important opportunity for all members to review the club’s activities over the past
year, discuss future plans, and elect the committee for the upcoming season. All club members are encouraged to attend this important meeting. Your input and participation are vital for the continued success of the club.

An final agenda will be circulated prior to the meeting.

Agenda shall include

• 2024/25 AGM Minutes approval
• League update
• Financial Review and 25/26 Accounts
• 26/27 Membership Fee Recommendation
• Election of officers
• AOB

• All roles are up for re-election
• Anyone interested in nominating themselves for any role – please contact [email protected]
• Members wishing to raise any items under AOB must submit them in writing to the [email protected] by 6 PM on Sunday, 12th July 2026.

Please note that items not submitted in advance may only be discussed at the discretion of the Chair.
