ποΈ Healthy Habits - Resetting after the Holidays
School holidays are a very fun time for families, but they can also be hard work for parents. For this reason, it's so important for parents to take the time to practice a little extra self care at this time to help you to transition back to your family's normal routine.
Here's our top three tips for parents looking to reset after a busy summer.
π§π€. Rest and reset. Parties, play dates and trips out all come at a cost to your energy. Take some time for intentional rest; that could be a snooze in the daytime, a walk in the park or a quiet coffee by yourself. All of these things help to bring you back into balance, whilst taking a little bit of time for yourself.
ππ₯ Connect with others. Taking time to connect with people that you may not have had a chance to see over the holidays is an essential practive for helping you to return to normality. Call a family member, meet up with a friend for a chat or get out for a stroll together; every connection counts.
π§½π«§. Reset your space. Chances are, your space may have got a little messy during the holidays! If the job feels overwhelming, try setting a timer for 15 minutes to get started, or tidy in categories (rubbish, then laundry, then dishes, then putting things away). A clear space is a clear mind.
