Friends of Durham University Canoe Club

Good morning !

As I’m sure you all know the friends group run two of the three bucs events a year - river race and slalom. We now need some more willing volunteers to come and help with the organisation/communicating with bucs for these events to keep it going.

We are currently looking for someone who can help liaise with bucs for the events and help with the organisation. You do not have to be based in Durham for this job.

As you all know these events really help the club and if you had a great time in the canoe club it is a chance to give back and meet up with everyone !

It’s been pointed out that there will be a handover period over the next year in which whoever is keen will be shown the ropes :)

Hi everyone. We know there has been some rumours about the details of the upcoming river race event.

We apologize for not saying anything before now, but assure you that we have been working hard behind the scenes to ensure that we can still provide the best possible event.

The event is still due to go ahead at the Washburn, but due to the water levels we have had to shorten it down to one day. It will only run on Saturday 23rd February, but we urge you to get your entries into BUCS as soon as possible so we can plan accordingly and let you all know the details.
